Hope some of you great photographers out there can help me locate some great photo spots to capture my DGD in her princess glory. She has a 8 am BBB appointment in the Castle. Since MK opens at 9 that day, I'm hoping to be able to get a chance to get a few good shots before all the crowds get in. I know she can go and have the photo shoot at Tink's Treasures (at least that is what I think it's called), but I wanted to save that for later. And, I know that we'll be limited to where we can go until the park opens. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Karen

Real close to BBB is the Sword in the Stone in front of the carousel. Another spot is in the circle in front of the castle with the Partners Statue. There are also smaller character statues with flowers in the background. The old standby is character interaction photo-ops.

First, be sure to take a few photos of your DD on your way INTO the park. She won't have had her makeover yet, but you will get some great shots with next to no one in the background.

Next, if you want photos in front of the castle after the park opens, go to the photo op in the Rose Garden, on the walkway to Tomorrowland. From that angle, there will be almost no one behind you. Photopass will be there, but take your own as well. We had terrible luck with the photopass shots there for some reason last year. Over the entire week every shot they took there was out of focus. I'm sure it will be different by now, but it's always good to take your own as well.

Next, once you're done at BBB and the park is open, watch outside the gift shop (I think it's called Castle Couture now) for the real Fairy Godmother. She'll be hanging out there all morning.

We also like shots by Cindy's Wishing Well, on the path behind the castle heading toward Fairytale Garden.

I found there were more people in the park around 8 than I expected with breakfast in the castle and the crystal palace there were quite a few people mulling around.

Thanks! I think I'll mark these on an index card to keep in my bag, so I'll be sure to remember your tips. And, btw, I do love you photos in the photo contests. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the great tips! I'm really glad you answered as I love looking at your daughter's photos with all the princesses! I've gotten some ideas just looking at your photos. We didn't see the real Fairy Godmother last summer at all. I'll be sure to be keeping an eye out for her! I'm with you with the photo pass folks, as some are definitely better than others.

You do have a good eye for composition and staging! I'm planning on stealing some of your ideas :goodvibes

I imagine at 8:00 there will be a small rush of people all trying to get their ADRs. Last year we got in the park about 8:45 and it was great as I do have a picture with her on main street and we are practically alone! The clock has 8:50 on the dial. I do remember as we got closer to the castle and stop for a photo, there was a new photo pass person, who was slow and having trouble, and there I was smiling and saying 'please hurry before all those people get here' as I could see the people running down mainstreet! :)

Thanks for the tips! Hope there will be some more!

Aww, many thanks for the kind comment! :goodvibes I hope you get some great photos!

Be sure to stop at a couple different spots along Main Street. Get one with the castle in the distance, and one up by the Partners statue with it up close.

And yes, do wait for that initial rush of people to thin out. You should still get some photos with just a few (or no) people in them.

Hope you get some good ones!

Besides shots where you get "other" things in besides your DGD, be sure to get some that completely or almost completely fill the frame and show a close up of any glittering and colors, etc (which you can take practically anywhere if the lighting is good!). Shots that show other things are nice, too (love the rose setting in front of the castle) but I really love the portrait type shots on a special occasion like that. One mistake that amateur photographers often make is shooting from too far away and having too much distraction in their shots. Don't be afraid to get in close! Have fun!

i am so far from those beautiful places ,... i love to see one day .. but here in this forum sometimes i dreaming alot with your shots and stories ... very magical!!!! Thank you
