We will be at the WL (Courtyard view) Nov 18th thru the 24TH! This was supposed to be a budget trip though!:rotfl: I need to add 2 nights on to be able to do MVMCP on the 16th! We have never stayed at a Moderate or Value resort before, but I am considering one for these 2 nights! I am considering POR FQ, CSR, CBR or POP. I am wondering though if POP would be that much different than a moderate?? Would love some input! My ds 10 thinks the pool at CSR looks cool?? Any thoughts on this also appreciated! I love the deluxe resorts for the queen beds and balcony/patios and I know I won't be getting that at either value or mod resort!:lmao: So, I am wondering if I should at least go with a Standard view at AKL or if we could be happy at a Value or Mod for 2 nights???? :scared1:  Please Help!!:lmao: :dance3: :cheer2:

If you have never stayed at Moderate or Value before, I believe you might see and feel a bigger difference if you go the Value route.

I have never stayed at POP, and I know that many people love it. I have stayed at a Value only one time -- ASMU -- several years ago. It wasn't terrible, but we don't care to go back. I don't want to be overly-critical because everyone enjoys different things, and certainly the Values fill a need in the market. But ASMU felt more like a Motel to us -- the Moderates feel more like a Resort. I think (Just My Opinion!) that there is a larger gap in the Look and Feel between Values and Moderates than there is between Moderates and Deluxes.

I do not have a favorite resort. I can't answer the question "What's your favorite Moderate?" But we do really love Coronado Springs. The property is more spread out than WL or AKL, so there is potentially more walking from your room to the common areas. If you are driving, you do park close to your room. The grounds are lusciously landscaped. When you step out of your room onto the (exterior) walkway, you will likely be looking at some sort of beautiful Southwest landscaping or Spanish courtyard or something like that. Yes, the main pool is pretty cool.

It is my understanding that CSR was originally built to be a Deluxe resort. But, when finished, there was something that didn't meet Disney's Deluxe standard. I don't know what that was. Regardless, it was classified as a Moderate. And, so, it has a few more amenities than the other Moderates -- Hair Salon, Health Club, not sure what else. It does have Convention facitilities, which some people think that they won't like. But that has never bothered us -- even when we stayed in the Casitas, which is the section right next to the Convention Center. I've never seen people walking around in business suits. But, even if I did, so what? I'd rather see a business suit than some of the other "park attire" that I do see!

We also love POR and POFQ. I think that CSR, POR, and POFQ would probably be our 3 favorite Moderates -- and we don't dislike CBR. Many people love CBR.

We just try to be open and to try different things. We have never stayed at a Moderate that we didn't enjoy.

We will be at the WL on the 16 - 20th also. We have a woods view with bunk beds. We are also going to MVMCP on the 16th.

This a surprise trip for my dd's!! I am not sure when I am going to take them out of school. When I see her schedule I'll know what time I can check her out on Wednesday the 14th!! I want to get there early on Wednesday!!! It is at least a 10 hour drive for us, plus we lose an hour with the time change!!

I also don't know when I plan on telling them. My dh wants me to wait until we check them out on the 14th. My dd's are 13 & 11.

We have stayed at POP twice, ASSo once, POR once. I love them all. The rooms are smaller at POP. (how much time do you spend there!) The pools are nicer at the moderates. I think for that reason, I would do a moderate. It is nice to have a cool pool waiting on your after a long day at the park!!j

I am sorry, I am rambling!!:cutie: I am just so excited!!!!! :woohoo:

Why don't you switch your first two nights to a moderate and add two nights at the end of your WL stay? That way if you aren't happy with your stay in a moderate it will be a distant memory rather than the last thing as you leave and first thing when queried on how the trip went.

We are trying CSR out for the first time next month before switching over to AKL; assuming  we aren't moved. Most people we've talked to about CSR are quick to share how much their children enjoy the CSR main pool. The pool at AKL doesn't have much unique other than the zero level entry. We usually pick POFQ over POR but Riverside probably has the "more fun" pool. Been several years since staying at CBR so I'm blanking on the pool features.

I'll be at Pop, and that is stretching the budget! We are flying in on 11/16, going to MVMCP, and leaving on Thanksgiving day. I've only been to WDW once, and that was last summer at ASSports, and we loved it! All we did in the room was sleep and shower, so what difference does it make? And my kids loved taking pics with the icons. I'm really looking forward to Pop this year (last year was for ds's 9th birthday so he picked, this year we are going right after dd's 8th birthday and she picked Pop).

We're going Nov 15-21 and can't wait to get back to Disney (even though we just got back from a two week stay!)!!!

I currently have us booked at AKL, but I'm not too crazy about the construction that is going on there, so I think we'll switch to either POFQ or CSR. We've stayed at both - both are really nice - POFQ is a little smaller and easier to get around.

We'll also be at MVMCP on Nov 16~ maybe we'll see ya there!!!

We're staying Nov. 15-24 at the Contemporary MK view per the request of my DS13. My DH is pretty excited about it too. We're going to MVMCP on Nov. 16.

We'll be at SSR, BWV & a surprise (to me :woohoo: Mod.
CBR:
Lushly landscaped, lovely. People do complain CBR is 'spread out', we see it as a plus. Use the little bridge to take a short cut to the Customs House.
We like being away from the larger pools & food courts for a more peaceful feeling. As a yougster, our DS really loved the pirate ship themed pool.
The on site store was well stocked, the restaurants we did not try this time out, but we've liked in the past. IMHO, there's more food choices at CSR.
CBR Mousekeeping has been excellent in our experience & check in a breeze. Say 'hello' to CM Patricia (from Massachusetts) at check in if you see her--she's so bubbly & helpful!
Last year for the 1st time, we tried CSR & loved it, too! It was full, but it certainly did not feel like it. :thumbsup2 The resort's restaurant choices were excellent & we appreciated the landscaping & themeing and, like CBR, the very convenient parking. The pool looked super!
We have stayed at POP & ASMU and will again.
DH felt the room in the Broadway section of ASMU was a hike, and he's not a slouch. However, he does run himself ragged in the parks so maybe he was just extra beat. :rotfl:
As a Value, we like POP.
The 90's section is a short walk to the food court & buses. Yes, you'll notice the difference in room size. We have 3 grown people in our room & can't imagine many more. The landscaping, tidy & colorful, isn't as detailed or lush as the Mods. We do enjoy the playful themeing & I can see how the young at heart, as well as children, would really get into the big icons! :cheer2: JanB hit it on the head.
Also, if possible, spend yr 1st couple of nights at the Mod or Value, as Merryweather suggested~
