Where are you staying and why?

Going in 2021...less then 900 days! Lol.

Staying at The Contemporary for MK’s 50th. (Sept 27 to Oct 3) the 50th is Oct 1.

Why? Walking distance from MK. I expect it will be very congested, and we wanted to make sure we were close by for any MK Anniversary Day special events.

Planning on reserving our room the first day room only options open for our window. (next May)

We are staying at POP this trip to check out the theme of the resort. My DD really wanted to stay at ASMo, but our TA let us know that the updates were not finished so we are staying there. I'm very excited to try POP for a longer stay as I stayed for one night in 2013 and I have to say that I loved the food court options.

Next trip will be a split stay at Poly and epcot resort or riviera. Poly because I have always wanted to stay there and epcot / riviera to be close to those two parks . Not sure we are booking riviera, waiting for next years pricing.

i'm staying at pop century next trip because i'm a college student and it's all i can afford LOL! seriously though, i stayed at pop in march and i really liked it! i thought it was better than caribbean beach (maybe not the atmosphere, but it's a lot more convenient!)

i know pop is a tad bit more expensive than all stars, but they don't share buses so that's always a plus.

We are staying at Beach Club on rented DVC points because we love the location. We love being able to walk to EPCOT or HS, plus we like the pull down bed in the studio so we don't have to share a bed with our wild sleeping kids.

Planning on staying at AKL in December 2020. Originally wanted Contemporary but the boyfriend has the good argument that we will probably never go to a real African safari so the theming is too unique to pass up.

Contemporary in May 2020 - because of this board ;) The ease of walking to MK is too great to resist with 2 stroller-aged kids in tow. I've never stayed there before and have always wanted to so this was just the push I needed! I'm definitely more excited than my kids at this point.

Stayed at FQ last year and are planning to do so on our next visit - lovely resort, compact, quiet, nice boat trip to DS, loved the pool which has a feature sea dragon arch over it and this gives a beautifully shaded area from the sun when having a swim.

Just for fun, the first time I went to WDW was 1973 and we stayed at holiday inn. :):):) Taking the grandsons this time and staying POFQ as I have never stayed moderate and always liked the look of this one. Have stayed AOA, ASMu and CBR in the past. And Holiday Inn.

We chose YC for our trip in September, it will be our first stay there. It will be myself, DH, adult DS and his GF. We are all staying in 1 room, which is what we did last May at the Poly and it worked out pretty good. The bathroom seems to be better at the YC with the sinks being separate from the toilet/shower. We got free dining and upgraded to deluxe.

Looking forward to the pool and the quick walk to Epcot, though I am wondering how the gondolas are going to impact the area.

Where?
Girls trip (!!!) for F&W this October and we are staying at Caribbean Beach Resort.

Why?
The price was better for the three of us in a preferred room at CBR than the hotel that was originally booked (Coronado Springs). The back story to that is that they wanted me to go with them and initially and I said no. They booked a different hotel and a few months passed... I was casually on the Disney website and looking at dates and hotels and viola(!) CBR popped up with a preferred room with a package for less than they booked at CS -- in that they would pay about $200 less out of their pockets with us splitting it three ways. So we cancelled Coronado and booked CBR. We'd never considered staying there, but since then we have researched it and have gotten a lot of positive information so we are really excited!

1 week from today's trip, Boardwalk Inn, CL, because it's our 2nd home and it's our anniversary trip
next trip after that is DGD's yearly after school trip and WL, Bunk Bed room, her choice
next trip after that, Boardwalk Inn CL, because it's my birthday, so back to our 2nd home AND, it's grand opening of GE, so we can walk

After nearly three decades of not needing a place to stay in order to visit WDW and having spent way too much time there, after next Aug whenever I visit WDW, which won't be that often, I'll have to decide on where to stay. That will feel very strange. I won't need to be immersed in all things Disney and I don't need transportation to and from the parks. Because I'll spend minimal time in the room, as long as it's clean, safe, has a bed, shower, & TV, it'll be fine.

Celebrating son's high school graduation in June. He thinks we are staying at ASMO but with the current discount I upgraded to AKL. First time at a deluxe!

Our next trip will be at GF. I have young kids (age 2 and 5) so proximity to MK is the biggest thing for us, especially since the little one still takes a long nap in the middle of the day and I want to make it easy for us to get back to the resort. My oldest is obsessed with Cinderella so I decided on GF since it is more "princess-y" than the Contemporary, which was my other possible choice (We've stayed at Poly twice before, so we wanted something different). We are also splurging on Club Level to make breakfasts and snacks easier, since my little guy has a feeding delay and is very picky, but loves things like cereal, yogurt, and snacks.

I apparently have my next 4 trips in the works in the next 12 months. I book resorts that our family loves. And then some hope and luck to get in the DVC resorts that we really love. I actually was at WDW last month and stayed at AS Movies for 1 night and then AKV-Kidani the rest of the week. I chose AS-Movies as it was the only with availability the night my flight got in when I booked barely a month before (airfare was a lot less to come 1 night earlier). And AKV-Kidani since it is one of my DVC homes and I just love it there!
  • July - Villas at Grand Californian (VGC) - I own DVC here and love my CA home! We will be there for Disneyland's 64th birthday! Such a calm resort (especially on the villas side), but so close to the park.
  • September - Boardwalk Villas (may change the first night to a value since arriving very late at night). I really lucked into getting this at the 7 month mark through DVC for again this September. Originally booked it because we love it there and it is so convenient to Epcot and HS. And then Galaxy's Edge Opening was announced for 2 weeks before we arrive and the location became even better! Just seems so central and we had an amazing stay there last September and when I asked my Mom where she wanted to stay this year, she said Boardwalk (she was not totally sold last year so I kind of expected her to say Wilderness Lodge (BRV) or Animal Kingdom (AKV)).
  • January 2020 - VGC (tentatively - booked but may drop) - Again, love my CA DVC home!
  • March 2020 - TBD but will be a DVC resort

Right now, we are staying at BWI. I had originally booked CSR with the free CS dining, but then I realized the dining plan really hasn't fit us for a long time. All CS in July would be awful, so I was considering upgrading to the TS plan, but we don't really want to have an ADR every day either. Then I realized I could get a Deluxe without the free dining under the room deal for a little more. I chose BWI because we love HS and EP and are not planning to go to Ak. We took one night off our trip to save on what I thought was a great deal and because the last time we were at WDW, we decided 5 days of parks is plenty for us.

Now... I am considering moving over to CBR to save $600, but that's going from a great deal on a Deluxe to rack rate at a mod. Not sure I want to pull the trigger on that yet, as we already "lost" having a mod booked with free dining!

As the World turns...

Staying at SSR in the deluxe grand villa - 3 bedroom in 2020. Would love to try other resorts, but have to go with the 11 month reservation (DVC home resort) for this trip.
Nine members of the family (3 families) will be doing MK for one day then to the port for a DCL cruise.

Next trip is coming up in June and I'm staying at POP, which is where I stay most often. I'd usually rather spend money on extras, such as tours or special events but in December I was at The Swan, which I also love, and sometimes its POFQ, which is also a favorite. This will be the first time in a re-done POP room, as last time the refresh was still in progress and I had one of the old rooms. I'm looking forward to the extra floor space with the Murphy bed up. My preference is a lake side room, even if it does sometimes mean extra walking.

I love the location of POP, with DHS and EPCOT being just short bus rides away, and also love that POP doesn't share buses with any other resort, and that there are actual queue lines for the buses. The only thing I don't love about POP is that the front area where you wait for the buses, because it seems so cement-y, where as in the rest of the resort landscaping is lovely.

A couple times each trip I'll walk over to AoA to eat at that food court or even just to walk around, so it nice to have that choice.
