I will be in training for a new job. I applied to be a youth sports photographer and they called me this week to let me know I was one of the lucky applicants. The job is part time seasonal but I am excited about it. I am also excited to get to learn the Canon cameras. They use all Canon gear and of course I have all Nikon gear. Good thing I will be using their equipment. It will only be 6 weeks in the spring and 8 weeks in the fall with the possibility of in between fill in shoots.
We're going to Charlottesville and Williamsburg. I'm thinking of adding Washington, DC before heading back home because that week is supposed to be peak for the cherry blossoms.
My DD is going to DC with her 8th grade class, I'll probably be sitting around the house worrying about her...lol
Easter Weekend is the start of Spring Break here, and on the 4th is Ellas first bday...since I"m off that weekend, maybe we'll go somewhere local but fun
We're going to Naples, Fl, next Monday, and it better warm up! I looked at Accuweather this morning and it was 43 degrees in Naples and 39 degrees here in Boston. I'm not liking that!
Spring Break! What's that? I just started a new assignment at work with no paid leave so no days off for me until a few in July for a friend's wedding.
But the good news is we are tentatively planning a late January trip down to the see the Mouse and Harry Potter
Enjoy your trips everyone and please post pics so I can vicariously travel somewhere this spring!!!
Am in DC right now visiting our daughter and doing a photo safari of things we haven't seen or photographed before. Visited the National Building Museum and the American Art and Portrait Museum. Both buildings are photographically spectacular! The Building Museum was the Civil War Pensions Building. Very Romanesque-like with columns and arches. Absolutely beautiful. The American Art and Portrait Museum is the third oldest building in DC and was the original Patent building. It was closed for six years and completely renovated. It contains one of two of the official collections of Presidential art. Again, photographically, its a treasure trove of opportunity! Having a blast. Tonight, is DC-at-night photography. I am using all my new lenses that I purchased since December.

I live in Lee county, right above Naples, and yes it has been really cold the past couple weeks! The local news is saying that this weekend was the last of it. I hope they are right. It is already a little warmer today than it has been.
We had a dreadfully cold winter here in SE Texas. We had a crew spend all day yesterday working on our landscaping. We lost most of our palms. Many of our oleanders had to be cut way back. It's sad looking. I am very ready for spring to come.
The weather in Monterey hasn't been too good for past couple of weeks. It should be nicer by the time we get there next week.
I'm packing up my camera gear. My bag is up to 35 pounds.
