Where are you going for your Honeymoon?

Hi all! I am new to the Weddings and Honeymoons board. I am usually a Community Board person but I just got engaged on Dec. 23rd and have my wedding date! It is October 11, 2008! So I thought I would start taking a look at these boards. I was wondering where you guys are going or have been for your honeymoons besides Disney.

We want to do all inclusive and we were thinking Couples but I found one on Mexico called Aventura Spa Palace, has anyone ever heard of or been to either ?

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

As of right now, we're Disneymooning in Disney World for 10 nights. We might cut that down and maybe fly somewhere else (Like St. Lucia) but we'll have to see how the money goes (literally!)

We will be in Disney for around 4 days and then we are going on a Royal Caribbean 7-night cruise... we are SOOOO excited! The cruise goes to Labadee (their private destination), Ochos Rios Jamaica, Grand Cayman Islands, and Cozumel!

I think I'm more excited about our cruise right now than our wedding lol.

I'm going on a Carnival Cruise, to the Southern Caribbean... Puerto Rico, St Thomas, St Kitts, Dominica, Barbados, and the Dominican Republic. I LOVE Cruises but DF has never been (even though he was a captain of a yacht!). I love that you can travel to so many different places without ever having to unpack... that and all the yummy food!

I think I'm more excited about our cruise right now than our wedding lol.

My DF is the same way! He wont stop talking about the cruise... and how happy he'll be when hes sitting at the all you can eat buffet

YES!!! lol. DF has never gone before and I've only been on one 4-night cruise before but it was in June so it's still pretty fresh in my mind. I've been telling him ALL about it like every chance I get and all he says is "It's all you can eat right??? There's 24 hour room service right?" lol

I'm the same way though... that was one of my favorite parts of the cruise was all the eating!

So have you always gone on Carnival or have you cruised on any other lines before?

Well, we were going to take a 2 week cruise.
But because our family will be flying in from all over to go to disney we have to cancel the cruise...

So now we're going to stay at Disney instead...
I guess that's not too bad...
And maybe later in the year head to Hawaii, Europe or a shorter cruise... not sure yet... for our second honeymoon.

I wanted to do something like this. We have friends who just got back from their honeymoon at an all inclusive resort. I've heard of Couples, but not the Aventura Spa Palace... hopefully someone can tell you about it!

Me Toooooooo!!! The Wedding is Monday. DF is working Tues, Weds, and (maybe) Thursday. We leave for our Western Caribbean Cruise on Carnival on Saturday. So I get to hang out in Disney with my MOH/FSIL for just under a week!! We were going to take the Royal Caribbean but just couldn't justify the price, especially when the Carnival ship is only 3 years old! Practically new (or so we tell ourselves.)

We were in Disney 3 nights and then a Royal Caribbean cruise to the Bahamas for 3 nights. Our original honeymoon cruise (RC 5 nights to Belize and Mexico) was canceled due to Hurricane Wilma, but we made up for it on our first anniversary with a Holland American Line cruise - it was one of, if not the, best vacations of my life! Completely wonderful and romantic

There you'll find everything you want to know about packing, tipping, dress code, etiquette, etc. Tons and tons of info. Be sure to pack anything you might need for illness - Immodium, Pepto, Tylenol, Nyquil, etc. I get sea sick so I take Dramamine Less Drowsy. Take it about an hour before you board the ship, then 1 pill the first couple of days and 1/2 a pill the rest of the days and that does the trick for me.

We were in Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman (and Costa Maya) last year on HAL. I fell in love with Grand Cayman! We rented a scooter and toured around by ourselves. It was fantastic! Just remember to stay on the left side of the road You have to see Hell - crazy name for a cute little town with very nice people. You'll have a blast!

We Disneymooned! A 14 day wedding trip. We had a few meals with various family members but other than that we just enjoyed the World at our own pace.

We have traveled a lot and intend to travel more, so a honeymoon at Disney felt perfect. But I can understand why some people would like to do something else!

We're doing a Disney Cruise and we are very excited! We wanted to go to Disneyland Paris but decided we'd save our money and keep the Paris trip until an important anniversary.

We're not doing a cruise. I wouldn't mind trying a cruise in the future but I really like having a nice big room to hang out in. Resorts are fun!

WE ARE DOING THE CRUISE ALSO! WE LEAVE DAY AFTER WEDDING OUT OF TAMPA ON ROYAL CARRIBEAN FOR A 5 NIGHT CRUISE TO COZUMEL AND YUCATAN. AFTER MY FIRST CRUISE LAST YEAR I WAS HOOKED THEY ARE WONDERFUL, AND ALMOST ALL INCLUSIVE, THERE ARE MANY CHANCE FOR FREE DRINKS ON THE CRUISE THE DIFFERENT PARTIES USUALLY OFFER THEM WE MOSTLY JUST BOUGHT A BOTTLE OF WINE W/ DINNER, OTHER THAN THAT WE GOT FREE ONES HERE AND THERE!!!!!!!

To answer the original question, we are staying in Disney too. 2/5 to 2/16.

So jealous!! That was my dream honeymoon! I hope you will post something about your safari... that is on our short list of adventures to take.

We just returned from our honeymoon. We spent 4 days in WDW then 7 days in Paris, including a trip to Disneyland Paris. We got engaged on the Disney Wonder in March 07 so we weren't quite ready to cruise again. We're not "beach" people-- originally we were going to go to several places in Europe but decided to just do Paris since DH had never left the country before.
