My beloved pixelofink site no longer offers free nook books and personally, the nook site stinks in the freebie department. I have the Kindle app on my iPad and they offer awesome freebies, but I prefer reading on my nook. So for those that have a nook, where are you getting decent freebies or really cheap nook books?

If you are a Facebook user, "like" this page, and you will get posts every day for Free and Reduced Price Nook downloads. Here is a list of all of the pages they offer for different genres of boooks.

Other than that, I just go to the Barnes and Noble website and search Nook Books by putting "0.00" in the search-bar. That gives you a list of all the free books right now.

I have heard that Amazon has cut a deal with publishers that B&N has not. There are going to be more and better freebies for the Kindle. I'm on two lists that post freebies for the nook (including the one mentioned above), and essentially very little is new other than christian stuff (not my thing) and some titles that get recycled continually. Most of the good stuff posted on the facebook page isn't free, it's lower cost than most other ebooks, but still you have to pay for it.

If you are on Facebook check out frugal girls. They post when a new book is free. I see some almost daily.

Thanks. I get those FB notifications, although I usually don't like them :) and I'm not all that impressed with BN's selection either....but I keep on checking.

I heard this too :(

Not sure if this link will work or not. I check it every single day.

Thanks. I book marked, signed up and liked their FB page :)

Will do. Thanks!

Don't forget to check the Nook Blog every Friday for the Free Friday's book. And once you get that book, scroll down in the comments, there's a guy that posts a list of 15-20 free books available on the B&N Website.

Today's free book featured on the Nook Blog is called WINSTON.

www.booksontheknob.org. THis person posts free stuff from Kindle and Nook each day and they tell you which one. And please stop by your local library and see if their ebooks are compatible with Nook. Most are.

Yes. I do use that site too. And I know our library does not do the ebook thing yet, but they reciprocate with a neighboring county. I just haven't had the time to drive over there and get the reciprocating card and get all that worked out. One day :)

Thanks for this link. I do the 0.00 search on my Nook and I get the facebook Free Fridays. I just went into this site and downloaded a bunch of books!

OP there is tons out there but you have to spend some time looking. I have over 500 books on my Nook and haven't paid for one of them. It is easier to do the free search right on your nook than it is to go the the bn.com site. You have to wade through the choices, but there is almost 2 million free books listed. It just depends on what you're looking for.

How is it easier on the nook? On the BN site you can sort by release or search by genre. What's different on the device itself? I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Sometimes the same books that are free on Amazon are available on the B&N Website they're just a pita to find so if you find a book you want search for it by title on B&N as you may be able to find it and get it free that way.

Also, if you find a book free on Amazon, and it's not free on B&N search for it on other e-books websites (google can be your friend in this case). All e-book sellers offer different books and because the Nook allows books from other vendors to be side loaded onto it the selection really is very good it just requires a little work.

If you like romance, allromanceebooks has a selection of ebooks that are free and they work on the nook. Some are Very Very Risque and some are so short as to not be worth it but the selection varies and usually matches what is available for the Kindle.

I get lots of ebooks online from our library. You can sideload them to the Nook using Adobe Digital Editions or, for iPad users, load them directly onto your device using the Overdrive Media Console. :thumbsup2

Free books make me happy! :goodvibes

A. Local library ... or not so local library.

B. Ebookfling.com ... you trade lending the books you own with other Nook users. I believe there are several ebook lending connection websites.

I have downloaded a bunch of free classics from B&N. Mostly stuff like the Wizard of Oz series, everything by Arthur Conan Doyle. Its not formatted as well as the 99 cent ones but its easy and I'll take free any day ...

You can also take your Nook to your local library. I am sure they would be more than happy to teach you how to find and download books to borrow. I stopped by for advice about my Kindle last week. They were SOOO nice and helpful. Good luck and enjoy!!!!

Our library has classes on how to use the Nook and they have many books available, but like the popular regular books there can be a wait.

If you like Science Fiction, there are a lot of free ebooks available at the Baen Free Library (google it). You would need to connect your nook to a computer to load them on it.

I love downloading free ebooks from my library! I have never purchased an ebook and probably never will! :worship: My library allows me to "borrow" up to 10 books for my choice of 7 or 14 days! Best of all, you delete the books when you are done, so you don't fill up your ebook with books you have read! Reserve times for brand new released books are reasonable as well. Gotta love a system that works!
