My kids are 6 and 10 and I am just up to November 2002 in each of their books... :faint: I have TONS of new products but I am doing basically "simple" pages in their books right now without a whole lot of embeliishments just so I can get better caught up.

I don't want to rush things, but it will take me more than forever - since it takes me forever now - to finish pages if I try to make every one "perfect". I also hope to take the scrapbooking design university classes at the lss and I want to wait a bit for more recent photos (with my rebel xt!) and use them with the new skills I learn at the classes. Make sense?

I have actually been working on a few pages lately and that is great! I just moved the craft room around yet AGAIN and this way works out much better than other arrangements - I'll take pictures once everything is all picked up. (Somehow when I arranged things I ended up with several boxes of misc. "stuff". :confused3 )

JESW---All I can hope for is that after I die and go to Heaven, God has a scrapbooking room for me to catch up in b/c it'll be then before I do!!
:cloud9:
I have several books planned or in the works. First there's my oldest daughter's album....she's 14, I'm up to age 10. Then my middle daughter that turned 9 in June.....haven't started hers...altho she asks alot "Mom, when are you going to start my album?" Then my youngest daughter (6 tomorrow)--haven't started hers yet either. I also have a (soon to be) 25 yr old step son that I promised I;d make him an album about his Navy career but he has yet to get me any pictures other than his basic training shot and a couple more. Oh well, I won't take the blame there. Then I have our continuing Vacation pictures and a new group of shots I need to work from our July pictures and now I started a Cruise album and a Destination album for work. And of course there's our family album...I'm at Christmas 2003 on it. Plus I really want to make a Heritage album from some pictures I found in my Great Aunt's trunk a few years ago. So yea, I need a scrapbook room when I get to Heaven!!

Getting Busy............

I was just talking to DH about this today! I am only up to December 2003 in our family album, I haven't started the travel album that I just "HAD TO HAVE" to put all of our vacations in, then I have a Christmas album, a cruise album from 2 years ago. . .and on and on and on. :rotfl:

This summer, I finished our album from our December '04 trip and did our cruise album from our May/June '05 trip. I am thisclose to finishing our March '04 trip. . .I have now seen so many Disney pictures, I don't know what to do! :earsgirl:

At least it gives me a fun hobby, though, right???

Good luck on all of the scrappin'! :cheer2:

My DS's are 4 & 8. I just finished our vacation this year...sound great huh??? WRONG!!! I haven't started their baby books!! Yes, I am 8 & 4 years behind!!

I figured I would stay current then go backwards. I didn't get into scrapbooking until last year, so that's my excuse. Anyway I'll be scrappin til the day I die it seems, good think I love doing it!! :rotfl2:

I'm caught up to May 05 (3 events left to to get it current) and I have half of July's vacation done

I am actually caught up okay for right now. I finally finished my kids books, which are now up to date (right up to the first day of school last week) and right now I am working on the vacation albums. I am behind in those (last entry was August of 04), but getting caught up quick. I am actually enjoying scrapping more now that I am caught up with the kids. I used to worry constantly about it! I don't know why, but did. :confused3

:)

I am no where near caught up! I am still working on our Disney trip album from December of '04. Then I have to do our Las Vegas trip from June of this year. And did I mention that we leave for Disney again in two weeks? :confused3 I will be working our vacations forever!

My problem is that I tend to get bored when working on my albums, so I will break off and do a totally unrelated album, like me NASCAR albums or pics from my wedding that was three years ago! Therefore I have several albums that are all in a state of limbo. Ah well, it just gives me something to work toward.

It's really good that I don't have kids or I would really be in trouble!

I am doing pretty good this past week, I finished our 25th anniversary album, caught up my son's album, did his baseball team album, I have one layout and the family album is caught up....

now for the other ones

I have a disney trip album from a bizillion years of trips to catch up on...doing good but lots to go.

I have a Family Trips with Dad on business album to do...haven't started and we have been to NYC/Boston/Cooperstown/Williamsport and back to NYC...so lots and lots there to do.

I have a Gettysburg album x3 to do, one page completed in each of them...yikes!

I have a Florida album to do from this years vacation....lol!

I think I am feeling overwhelmed and I am not done....

I need to take apart my oldest DD's album's that are in the magnetic type book. File the pics, toss the bad ones and get them ready to scrap.

Middle daughter is doing her own college experience book, thank heavens...:)

sigh....ok I can breathe now...gosh I have a lot to do. Glad I did our 25th anniversary short, sweet and simple. lots of journaling and little embellishments.

I think I better stay out of the swaps and do my albums

I scrape chronilogically and right now I am just finishing up Christmas 2004! I have lots from 2005 to get to. I also have a few unfinished projects which include an All About Me book, my nieces portrait book and school years book, my parents childhoods, and a christmas present for my Aunt, which I need to get going on!!!!

I am never caught up!!!

I am soooooo far behind :rotfl: :rotfl2:
I dont think I will ever catch up. My younger son is 2 and I am up to his first birthday. Not bad. My older son got jeleous that I was scrapping the youngest baby book so now I am back tracking and doing the oldests baby book. I have been scrapping for almost 6 yrs so I have alot of him done already but I never went back and did his.

I can say proudly that I am all caught up with his school scrapbooks. I do one for every year. (now that I think about it, I didnt do one for K)
I have done the vacation ones - Disney 2002 just finished about 3 months ago, and finished Sesame Place 2004
That is some progress

HAHAHA, that's great!!! I feel the same way! My son will be 4 in Oct and I only did 4 pages so far. I also have a new princess that I am going to have to do pages for, too! I keep buying supplies with the intention of making awesome pages for the albums, but I just never have the time! I am too busy looking at the Disney Forums all night!!!!! :rotfl:

I am so far behind it's not even funny. And to top it off I'm at a complete stand still. I have no motivation or creativity at the moment. We also have 2 more WDW trips this year. I'm still working on the 2004 trip! Forget baby books, I don't own the books yet let alone paper to do them with. I did get one thing done a few weeks ago and that was sort and organize all my stuff. My table is now clean so I guess it's a start and all of my pictures are sorted by event or person.
I'm trying to decide if I should leave it alone for a while or dive right in and hope inspiration strikes me.

As DH put it, "I don't want to hear finished and scrapbook in the same sentence, cause it will never happen!" :rotfl2:

LOST

I started out good with the chronological thing way back in 1999 when I started scrapping - and along the way I lost motivation to scrap - and stopped for a while - and when I came back to it I have been a little spaztic with it and scrap the pictures I want TOO so I am all ova the place -
The way I figure it - now is the time to make all the memories - before I know it my little ones will be off to college and I will have plenty of spare time to catch up!

I am only about 6 months behind in my kids and family books. Last summer I started my Mom's pics and I am in 1976 so I am about 30 behind. I am not worried though because they go fast. I just need the time to do them. Hoping to get through June of 2005 by the end of this month. Just hoping I don't get called into work too often.

i'm completely caught up on everything current.

three projects I'd like to eventually complete are
a wedding/ engagement/honeymoon album for dh & I
my childhood
heritage album of old family photos

I'm up to date with my "regular life" albums as I call them. Regular life being compared to vacation life. :flower: But that's misleading because my regular life albums only started in 2000 when I met my husband and stepdaughters. Still, I didn't think I'd ever get those caught up, but I did!

As far as vacations, I have scrapped WDW trips from 2000 (my very first album!), 2001 (3 albums!), 2003 (1) and most of 2004 (will probably be 2 when I finish) but I still have to do 2002 (honeymoon) and 2005 (soon to be 2 trips from this year to scrap.) I don't like to ever be caught up with Disney albums because then what if I don't go back for awhile? I always need something Disney to work on.

I also did my wedding album, an album of my best friends' weddings, and an album for my husband.

My next projects are my parent's wedding album and my life before 2000 -childhood, high school and college. We went to Disney a lot when I was a kid, so I'm going to love these ones! I'm also thinking that I may make 2 mini-albums for my best friends' birthdays in November. I figure if I don't finish in time I can always give it to them for Christmas.

I can't imagine a time when I'll ever be truly caught up. But when I finished the "regular life" albums I did have a huge letdown, thinking "What am I going to do now?" Then I realized I had my whole life to catch up on!

I guess Im waaaaaay behind. My kids are 18, 15, 5 and 3 and I just started scrapping a year ago. My first book was Disney of course, now we are going in Oct so I will have that book to do. I have also done some of the boys pics like the zoo and them some other pics I had taken at a studio. Im not going to go back and scrap all their pics but hopefully I can do the holiday and special events.

my sons are 20 and 24 and I just started scrapbooking a few years ago. I have along way to go. Life keeps happening, and I keep taken pictures, so I do not plan on catching up. :goodvibes

I was just looking at my albums the other day, and realized that I have one for every year from 1986 (the year we got married) to 1996 (the year my 2nd ds was born), then it all comes to a screeching halt lol! (2nd ds was a very ,very busy toddler). Both the boys (ds12 & ds9) have baby albums and my older ds has an album that goes up to about Kindergarten. Then I just sort of gave up on keeping family albums (the pics are at least in photo boxes chronologically - waiting for some day when I have time...). My poor dd 2 has a baby book with stuff just stuffed in it - I haven't even started putting it together yet.

I have done a couple less ambitious projects in the last few years: a Christmas album that's up to about 2001, and an album of our trip to Disneyland / California in 2001.

I'm planning to scrapbook our trip to WDW that's coming up in two weeks ( :Pinkbounc ). Also, I'm going to make dd a Disney ABC book - I've already bought the 7X7 CM album for that - it should be a fun and fairly easy project. After that, I want to make a career album for dh (air force and police dept), a Boy Scout album for ds 12, and a hockey album for ds 9, and of course finish dd's baby book. Ha ha! I've got my work cut out for me this year!

LOL ! I am so behind and never plan to be caught up! :rotfl2:
I do try to set certain goals for each year...of course I try....
I alway hope by the start of the new school year I am caught up on the kids school books, (almost there this year. DD is up to date, DS I need about 6 more layouts) I try to complete our yearly florida trip before teh next one rolls around...I am one year behind.....
Sports...lost cause....
scouts DD book needs 3 more layouts and will be done, DS a bout the same...

I dream of a beautiful christmas book but it is only a dream :wizard:

I really am to the point of stream lining my scrapping. Not scrapping all the school events. My last florida trip I ordered almost all 5x7 and very few...so when I get time to work on it, it should move quickly....
