Does anyone have a site where I can go to see where all the Orlando hotels are?

Also, which hotels are near the Florida Mall?

Kissmmee area is the closest to BW.

these would include the Holiday inn West (not good reviews), La Quinta Lakeside (very good reviews), Silve Lake resort (very good reviews), Quality Inn Maingate West, Clarion Hotel Maingate, Best Value Inn & suites Maingate (this is in Kissimmee not Orlando), Four WInds hotel (??).

FLorida Mall I think is in Orlando - so not really close to WDW or BW.

Not cheap but I think NickHotel, BVS, Caribe Royale and MCO are probably the closest to BW. The DTD hotels aren't far either. NOTHING IS IN WALKING DISTANCE. NONE of the hotels will have a shuttle bus to DTD and I don't even think the public buses would work.

Florida Mall isn't really close to Disney. You could go to biddingfortravel and look at the PL hotels in the FL Mall zone. It's basically NW of the airport. You might even use PL if you need a hotel in that area and don't care which one you get.

Thanks for the ideas! I just realized it's a bit of a strange request! What happened is I'm staying on I-Drive for a seminar, but I want to stay one day after the seminar is over, so I have to pay my own way, and i can't afford the seminar hotel! Plus, I was trying to get a hotel that would fit in with my plans for the evening and next day, which are dinner and Jellyrolls at Boardwalk, and Florida Mall the next morning, then onto the airport for an early afternoon flight out. I was really hoping to get something slightly north-east of Boardwalk/DTD area so that it was an easy drive either way.

Now that I think about it, I might get Florida Mall done earlier in the trip, in which case Saturday morning is open. Maybe Belz or Premium Outlets? Shopping is a priority for those of us from Barbados! We will have a car, as my friend from Altamonte Springs (north of Orlando) will be with me. Another option is to just stay at her place - but that will increase the driving significantly.

Anymore ideas of good, cheap hotels that would be within easy driving access of Boardwalk?

You might check the rates here for the Swan or Dolphin. There is a summer discount and several other types too. Then you could walk to the Boardwalk. :teeth:

you might try renting points from a DVC member for that day.

Now if it is a Fri or Sat - don't even try - the points are too expensive - but Sun-thursday night - it shouldn't be too expensive.

I would still go with Kissimmee

get something close to Sherberth RD - sherberth rd is a short cut to WDW -

US 192 West turn to Sherberth RD - at the next traffic light - turn right you are now on WDW property - stay on this road - get in the middle lane.

you don't want to turn left for the theme parks - just kept going - the next left turn you need is for Pop on the left - on the right is WWoS - take this turn - stay on this road when it dead end turn left - BW is the next traffic light right turn for BW (left for Studios).

you should be able to find something here for $70 or less.

BW will cost you around $140.

Hi We have stayed at the Comfort Inn at Lake Buena Vista , on Palm Pky off 535 short drive from DDD. Not sure of the summer rates but should be 50-60 keep watching. Also it is near the Premium :earsgirl: outlets.

So with this shortcut anything on 192 will work well? So if we were staying a bit north of DTD on 192, we could take the shortcut easily?

Those rates are really high - got any codes? :)

Hello!

The Doubletree Club Lake Buena Vista is SUPPOSEDLY within walking distance of DTD. It can be had on Hotwire for around $44/night depending on what time of year you are going.

us 192 is west and east

this is the west side shortcut.

on the east side you can get on 535 much quicker than trying to get back to here. Or one of the main entrances for that matter.

this short cut works best for just that part of Kissimmee.

what the address you will be coming from?

Swan or Dolphin will be at best about $149. They do have AAA, Entertainment, Teacher, Nurse and Government worker discounts. True it is on the high side but you can walk to the boardwalk.

If you go to the home page and click on Orlando Discounts many are listed right now through Dreams. I have used them before and they are very easy to work with. You might even think about trying a AAA discount at Pop or All Stars since it is only 1 night. Sometimes they are not much more than a nicer off site hotel. If it were me and I had such limited time I would want to be as close as possible. Ya know for more shopping time! ;) :teeth:

Both the Swan and Dolphin hotels are non-Disney hotels that are actually located onsite - right in the Boardwalk area.

If you can get a good rate, that is the best bet as you will have close access to MGM and Epcot as well as the Boardwalk.

As for an off site hotel close to the Boardwalk, I really can't help out.

The Doubletree is a LONG walk from DTD. Can it be done, yes. Do you want to? Probably not.

FYI, the Mall at Milennia is much nicer than Florida Mall. Not saying Florida Mall is bad, but Milennia is a cut above.
