Where are the double coupons???????

Is the double coupon thing purely a regional phenomenon? I love to save and watch my coupons but get so jealous of all of you when I read all the posts here about double couponing - there are no stores in my area (NE Wisconsin) that even offer this. Sentry Foods used to about 10 years ago before they went out of business, but nothing since. Any tips on how to find places that will double coupons or is it only certain chains or stores in certain areas of the USA?

It's common practice in CT to have double coupons in grocery stores. The only ones who don't offer doubles is Walmart / Target and the warehouse stores.

What I miss is the triple coupon sales we used to see ...

Here in Missouri, only 1 grocery store in our area does doubles. But I know there are more out there. But they only double to 49 cents, and there prices are generally a few cents higher than other grocery stores. Have you tried to a web search for double coupons and seeing if you can find any stores around you that double?

Mostly all our stores do the double coupon thing. I also miss the triple coupons we had for a while. It's been about 5 years ago because my youngest was a newborn and I got great items for her, really cheap.
I am REALLY depressed though because after grocery shopping yesterday, I discovered I didn't bring my coupon organizer home. I must have left it in the cart. I went to the store and they looked through their lost and found and didn't have it. She said someone must have taken it. I feel like I have lost my best friend!! Now I have to start all over.

I live in NJ and we NEVER had double coupons until about 6-7 years ago. Now, all of the supermarkets, except Pathmark I think, offer them. So there's still hope they may someday come to your state.

Two of our grocery chains just started doing double coupons about 2 years ago. There's one grocery chain that isn't doing double coupons but their prices are so competitive that it's sometimes cheaper than the price after double coupons at the other chains.

Where I live they double up to .99 for each coupon at the grocery stores (not Walmart). Over the river they only double up to .50 each coupon. Up at State College area the double $1 coupons. (I so have to take a trip up there!) So it is very different even here.

Here in East Tennessee we have five bigger chains. Two do not double, the other three do. Usually to 50 cents, though one has been at 55 cents for a while now.

We used to see triple coupons fairly often. Only one store ever does it now and they make it tough. They only double or triple three coupons per $10, so it usually isn't worth the bother. They also don't have any other very good sale items the weeks they triple, which makes it harder to run up your bill to use more coupons.

We have Cub Foods here which is mostly MN, WI, IL area. Our local store has double coupons up to $1 every Thurs., but it might vary by store. They also have 10% off for seniors on Tues. and for college students on Wed.

No double coupon stores here. There are some about 1 hour away. Occasionally the supermarket I shop at has a paper double coupon on 1 H&B item...that's about it. But I just did my shopping for the week, I got $200 for $100. I thought that was great...I have a full pantry.

I havent found any grocery stores that doubles coupons. I see shows where these women buy hundreds of dollars of groceries for less then $20. It cannot be done without double or tripling coupons. I want to see a show like this to see how they fare without the doubling/tripling.

I particularly like it when they double the coupon even if it exceeds the cost of the item. When my husband asks "why did you buy ten xxxxx", I can tell him that I made an extra dime on each or whatever it is. Who can complain about that?

We don't have double coupons in the Chicago area either, but most of our major chains (Cub, Jewel and Dominicks) will take couons up to six months after the experation date. I wait until things go on sale and then stock up using the coupons!!

I grew up in Green Bay and don't remember anything doubling up there either!!

I know what you mean about the coupons. Alot of the area stores used to regularly offer a double coupon day. I live in Oshkosh, WI too! Small world! My son even goes to preschool with a Caleb!

Most of our grocery stores double up to 50 cents. Once or twice a year some will offer triple coupons but only those up to 33 cents. Now that most grocery stores use computer systems, they won't let coupons be used for more than the item costs. I have seen a 50 cent coupon only doubled for an extra 39 cents when the item only cost 89 cents.

We have a local grocery store chain here in NC (in my area) called Harris Teeter. They will double up to 50 cents. However, one store near me does this and the other does not (go figure!!). I wish more did this. I have found with using coupons I do the best at Wal-Mart. Sometimes another chain (Winn-Dixie) will have buy 1 get 2 free sales and I stock up on those.

Our Harris Teeters doubles up to .99 all the time. They occassionaly offer a week-end of tripple up to .99. I bought like 50.00 worth of groceries for 17.00 last time they did that. I ended up with a lot of free hygene products and for some reason a buch of bisquick. I donate what we can not use to the food bank. Win-dixie around here does double up to .50 and Bi-Lowes I think does too. I same big by saving my coupons will the item is on sale.

Way back when they used to have a store here that even doubled FREE coupons once a year. We used to save them up for just that TOY. Was wonderful until a stinker ruined it for us all by bringing in counterfeit coupons.

We now have a couple of stores that double up to fifty cents everyday and one store that, every once in awhile, about once a month, doubles up to a dollar and triples up to fifty cents.

I am grateful that the Good Old Days were also the days I was raising my kids, including my big eating son. I miss it though. Am still trying to get off all the extra pounds I got from all my FREE food though.

Most of the grocery stores in RI have double coupons below $0.99 - we used to have occasional triple coupon days, but havn't seen those for awhile. On a regular basis, tho, Stop & Shop and Shaws will place a "5.00 off a $50.00 purchase"coupon in their flyer or in the Providence Journal - they each will also honor the coupon from the competetor - so I always hunt for those!
