Which leads to a quandary - are we north or south? After all, we were technically neutral during that little ole skirmish way back when, but sympathizers of the south. Little known fact – the guns of Forth McHenry were pointed towards the city, not the bay, during the aggression.

I guess I will be the first to check-in from Missouri (the heartland). I will guess this poll was probably put together by someone from the East. I live in what is lovingly referred to by my East Coast Friends as "Fly Over Country".


I have thouroughly enjoyed these reports.

Hmmm....

Texas is not really the South or West, but doesn't fit in any other category (I think of South as Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and surrounding areas, and West as California, Arizona, Nevada and such. We're not really a part of either of those.)

We're New Englanders (which really isn't the north OR the east... just a little bit of heaven on earth )...

Who were taken hostage by those rebels in Alabama...

And then escaped the country to Germany...

Only to ALMOST make it back to New England via Upstate New York (Watertown, NY, north of Syracuse... TRULY upstate!)...

Then the brutal cold drove us to the Pacific, where we suffered and "roughed it" for four years in Hawaii (I'm feeling your sympathy)...

Before being exiled to Alabama again...

Then rerouted to Maryland (where we finally got to experience fall again!)...

And are currently being held hostage, once again in Alabama - although we DO like our proximity to WDW, and dd may have defected to the south now that she attends Auburn, and insists that we walk around shouting "War Eagle!" at people...

Four more years, and we shall return to New England.
