I’ve seen reports that there were large groups at Coronado. What resorts are the cheerleaders at this week? Any experiences from anyone there now?
Definitely surprising.Wow!! AKL-???
Very surprising it is AKL where there is no where to practice and the cheering could really disturb the animals. Seems rather inconsiderate of Disney to allow them there.Definitely surprising.
That is the first time I have seen a Deluxe Resort listed as a Host Resort for any Cheer or Dance Competition.
Your reports are correct. We are here now and have seen a good many at Coronado. We are listening to them out at the pool from our room. Sounds like they are having a great time.I’ve seen reports that there were large groups at Coronado.
Practice space is not a consideration as their practices and events are at a different location. Just like at Pop, the all stars, and Riverside, there's no convention space or designated group event areas at those locations either but of course many, many dance and cheer teams stay at those resorts as well. There has almost always been a deluxe category offering for events we've participated in at Disney, whether it's football, baseball, or any other sport event. It's for the parents who don't mind swinging extra bucks and seems many often extend the stay to also include a family vacation. The whole team doesn't have to stay there, unless the team decides to do that together and wants to foot that bill. But usually, there are value, moderate, and deluxe offerings and each individual family can choose to stay where they want and just meet up at practice and events.Very surprising it is AKL where there is no where to practice and the cheering could really disturb the animals. They for sure practice at All Star Sports. I went back for a mid-day nap and from my room it sounded like a high school football game was going on outside.Practice space is not a consideration as their practices and events are at a different location. Schools in my neck of the woods are wrapping up. Next week is the last week for most of my area with some already done this week, so it would depend on where they live. They should be gone by middle of next week right? At least the majority of them, as they have to go back to school.
I'm not talking about official practice space, I'm talking about greenspace, open space they can spread out and use. Cheer and Dance practice for hours at resorts in their resort's public spaces. There is nothing like that at AKL. Because of the animals there isn't even recreation opportunities like open lawns/gardens, bikes, running etc. It is truly a passive resort.Practice space is not a consideration as their practices and events are at a different location. For sure! The Football Field is a "coveted" spot to practice at All-Star Sports. They for sure practice at All Star Sports. I went back for a mid-day nap and from my room it sounded like a high school football game was going on outside.

I'm not saying that they don't use the resorts for "practice", but it's not a necessity or requirement when these sports agencies are signing contracts with Disney. They pick what resort(s) desired and have at it. The individual groups/teams pretty much do what they want once the resort is selected. I think we've all witnessed that a time or 10.I'm not talking about official practice space, I'm talking about greenspace, open space they can spread out and use. YUP! Teams do practice at the resorts, and not in any convention space. They practice in any open space they can. Sports offers not just the football field, but several grassy areas in the back sections.
We were at Music in the Broadway back section. 2 am we still had cheer groups practicing on strips of grass.
So tired!![]()
