Where are the best places to watch the mardi gras parade?

First time universal parader here - wondering if all you experts wouldn't mind sdaying where your favorite place to watch the parade is, why its your favorite place, and how long you get to your spot beforehand?

I've watched the parade from several different places but the one I like the most is in front of ROTM. You can get close to the floats and if you get there an hour or so before the parade start time, you should be in good position to grab some beads.

I like Hollywood. It's the best lit area of the park at night and I think that adds to the atmosphere.
