I read in yesterdays paper that Disney is doing much better thanks to it's movie and TV division, but there theme park attendence is still down . SO WHERE ARE OUR AP DISCOUNTS IF THIS IS TRUE. I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY HAVE NOT HAD ANY OUT YET.

I think I've been patient, but I'm starting to get annoyed. If I see one more post where someone got a random postcard or e-mail offering discounts I think I'll scream. They are sending these out randomly but are not offering discounts to their AP holders? It's like they are trying to find people anywhere to book a discounted room before they "breakdown" and offer them to AP holders.

IMHO its like disney "knows" the AP people will be back so lets drag them along for a ride. This year has become one especially crazy ride since the FTP has errupted or should i say corrupted. Well, this was the first year that i have purchased an AP and frankly i won't do it again. It becomes too time consuming calling and hoping for the AP rate. So therefore, there is only one loss-thats Disney's because i will consider another place for our vacations. Don't they understand that their vacation locations are not cheap and the average working person that likes to take a yearly vacation need a break from the outrageous prices that are attached to the room, food, and tickets. It just seems as if they want to take people for a ride and this is a prime example of one!

I am actually at the point where I am thinking of cancelling my upcoming ressies for the end of the month and going to Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. I just got a great e-mail from them - $109 per person per night. It is usually double that. Have I ever gotten an e-mail or post card from Disney offering a discounted room? No.

Disney takes the time to offer discounts to everyone else but the loyal passholders. I see nothing wrong with trying to attract new customers/guests and it's great that they are offering discounts to them so they too can experience the magic. But, why not have a little courtesy to the loyal AP holders too?

It takes a lot to fill the parks. WDW hotels can be full but park attendance will still be low if all the surrounding hotels are lacking business. Sounds like maybe the Disney hotels are filling up again with guests (that FTP promotion probably helped) and maybe with conventions as well.

Don't give up hope -- they may just be holding back to see what happens.

Pam, I don't think so. I've been checking on disney.com, and I could have my choice of hotels for columbus day weekend. The last weekend in October is fuller because of the golf tourney. We're still homeless because if I'm going to spend over a hundred bucks a night for a room, it's not going to be at the all-stars. We'll probably book off-site or use priceline if discount rates don't come out soon.

Our last trip in May, there were at least room codes us AP holders could use before they released the AP rates. Codes that made booking an extra trip worthwhile. But it looks like the room-onlies are a thing of the past.

The FTP has been a huge success and yes park attendance can be down and Disney resorts can be full.

Annual Pass rates were never a given, they were offered to increase occupancy when levels were down. If occupancy levels are up, then discounts will be down.

I figure if I use my pass at least for 9 days I have gotten my money's worth, anything else is icing.
