Where are strollers allowed (and where are they not?)

DH was just wondering what lines etc strollers are allowed in and where they aren't?

Also what rides can you take your backpack on and when do you need to leave them with the stroller?

As far as I know, strollers aren't allowed in any lines. You have to park the stroller outside of the attraction. As far as where can you bring the backpack...DH carried our SLR bag onto every ride. We never left anything with the stroller. You can either tuck it under your legs, or, for the more intense rides, there's usually a net bag that you can store your valuables in (not necessarily big enough for a backpack, but we just wrapped the straps around our ankles if we feared it would fall out of the attraction car.

Yep, no strollers in lines. You can make it 1/3 through Kilamanjaro Safaris at AK before you are routed to stroller parking. Also, no strollers in restaurants. You can bring your bags w/you anywhere... I think there is a waterproof-ish container for Kali River Rapids.

The only line I can think of that strollers were allowed in was for the safari. (They take your stroller and park it before you board the vehicle and you pick it up when you get off.) This is a good reason to get there early, use fastpasses, and avoid attractions with long lines if you have little ones. They have to stand or you have to hold them.

We took our backpacks onto everything except RocknRollercoaster. We either just wore them, took them off one shoulder, or put them on the floor with a leg through the strap. (We used rider switch for the bigger attractions, so we had the option of leaving our stuff with whoever wasn't riding.)

There are some restaurants that will allow the stroller in...especially if the child is sleeping. We were allowed to bring it into several places because DS was asleep...they just sat us in a place where the stroller would not be in the way (i.e. against a wall at Concourse Steakhouse in CR, put stroller w/sleeping baby behind me, when he woke up, they brought a high chair). But, if your child isn't sleeping, you'd most likely have to park it.

I don't know of anything you can't bring your backpack on. We bring it on everything.

Hi! Our DD's are about the same age! What I do is this: I have my big diaper bag, with everything in it, change of clothes, etc. I usually leave this in the stroller. BUT, I also bring along a very little purse like bag that I take in lines/shows with us. In that is an extra diaper, little thing of wipes, hand sanitizer, my CC, room key, etc, autograph book/pen and a small pad of paper with a couple of crayons. In that little bag I can also hold her sippy if needed. I also bring my camera bag with me. That way I don't have to lug the big diaper bag everywhere. That gets old.

I DO bring everything into the restaurant, never know what you'll need. Also, the CS restaurants can all usually accomodate the stroller.

When are you going? Make sure you bring a swim diaper/bathing suit into Epcot and MK so she can play in the interactive water fountains. Those are my DDs FAVORITE!!! There is also one at DTD.

What about strollers in restaurants when the baby is an infant. We'll be there March 3-10 and our little one will only we 2.5 months old. She obviously can't sit in a high chair yet. Will they allow me to keep the stroller in the restaurants?? I'm bringing a sling to keep her in while in the lines for the attractions, but I don't particularly want to have to have her in it while I'm eating...

I don't remember about that (bringing strollers in for infants). When I brought my DD when she was 8 weeks, we ended up bringing the bucket carseat that attaches to the stroller. That way I could carry her into the restaurants. She slept better in the bucket, I could protect her better from the sun (with both sun shades up) and if she was sleeping, I didn't have to wake her. It was a lot of stuff to bring on the buses, but it was worth it. For dinner then we just put the carseat on top of the highchairs.

We considered that. But don't have a stroller that our carseat will snap into. We are bringing the Maclaren Triumph with an infant head and body support buckled in it for her. We use it all the time at home and she loves it - sleeps very well in it!! I'm hoping they'll let us bring it in.

The trick to getting strollers into restaurants is to eat at off-hours. Do lunch after 1 pm. and dinner before 7 or after 9.

We were even allowed to bing our Mac into Sci-Fi; we sat at one of the bench tables and slid the stroller underneath (she was 10 wks old, and sleeping.)

What type of carseat do you have? If you wanted to use that carseat you might be able to pick up one of the stroller frames at a pretty low price if your carseat will snap into it. Otherwise, just book your meals at off times like PP mentioned...but, I'm sure if she's sleeping they'd let you in with a stroller. And, with her being so young they may let you anyway.

I know you were asking about lines/restaurants, but just as an FYI, you are not allowed to bring strollers in the baby centers. I was really bummed about that because I have twins and there was no way I could carry two babies and their gear in there to change them w/o help, (which would have been great when DH took DS4 on rides). Luckily, they have the family restrooms. However, I was never turned down at any restaurant with my BIG double...even brought it in 50's primetime, during dinnertime! :confused3

Its been my experience that at 2 1/2 you dont really need to bother with the backpack. Since you can't ride rides or sit in shows wearing it, its more trouble than its worth, IMHO. She will be fine standing in lines and you can pick her up now and again.

Hi there! Our youngest DD took her first Disney trip at 3 months and we ate at many restaurants. Many of them did have Infant-style high chairs available. Others let us bring her stroller in (Peg Perego P3).

Offered the Infant-style High Chairs:
Chef Mickey's
Garden Grill

Brought the stroller into (not sure if any of these also had infant high chairs):
Le Cellier
Hoop Dee Doo
Marrakesh
Cape May
Ohana

We used a Pouch Sling:
San Angel

Strollers aren't allowed in the baby care centers (like pp said) but I had a double and my 2-year-old was sleeping in it while I needed to change my infant. The CM was hesitant at first, but let me in with it. So if you ask nicely and explain, they should let it in. Also, no strollers at Tom Sawyers Island, I carried my 1 year old over there and took turns holding him, it was fine but he did get heavy pretty quickly because he was not walking yet. We went to eat at Yak and Yeti and they told us to park the stroller but my son was too little to sit in a high chair (this was a different trip) after I explained it to them, they let us in with it. Also, the only strollers allowed to the Conservation Station at AK are personal strollers (no rentals) same with the train at MK.

Actually, there are no family restrooms at WDW, only companion restrooms. They are only listed on the WDW for disabilities maps available at the parks.

I have used them many times to change my twins, it is very convenient since my stroller will not fit in a regular restroom.

You are lucky, because I pleaded with the woman at the door to let me bring mine in to change my 3 month old twins. She wouldn't let me, and I explained I could not carry them both and all their gear that I needed. She said once I got in their there would be people to help me, but I still couldn't get them in there myself, so I was basically screwed. I understand that strollers take up space, but this was really inconvenient.

There is stroller parking everywhere, we do exactly that, park the stoller and bring the backpack. We have never had a problem taking the backpack on anything or anywhere.
