Where are (or were) the crowds?????

I don't really consider that paying less. You are paying the same but you got an extra month thrown in. If you were actually paying a lower price now that's different.

That's as big of a stretch as you can get...after a 20% or so AP bump in October of 2015.

It never gets old..."shillers gonna shill"

It's simple math. 13 months for what we paid for 12 last year.

Plus using the 20% off a lot by the way.

You aren't paying less than you did last year though. Sure you got a 13th month but the price isn't lower than last years.

My "per month" cost is lower, and now have 20% discount factor as well..

We're just going to have to disagree here. You aren't paying any less money. You got a free month but your total cost is still the same or higher than it was last year.

Agree to disagree as well.

Even if paying the same, the 20% AP discount lowers my cost anyway.

Plus if there's no financial benefit (such as the cost of money not coming out for an extra 30 days at 13 months instead of 12), there would not be threads starting complaining about not getting the 13 month deal.

Invested money coming out after a free month 13 instead of month 12 is an actual savings. Not even counting your per month cost.

Your logic is saying an extra 5 years free would not lower your cost either.

Just me - All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.....

I like this. Lower crowds, higher price. Perhaps Disney can do well, without a mob crush.

Don't know if I'm typical, but here's my reason for not going right now. I was an AP holder, so although I'm a Brit I spent a lot of time in the parks as I'm retired, so could do long vacations. All my vacation time was spent onsite.
Then they took away the parades. Then the Osbourne Lights went. I wasn't blown away with either the mine train nor FEA. Nothing was new apart from those rides, and I'd done all of them over and over. Prices were up but perceived value was down. Last year I did MVMCP and the show outside the castle was half the length of the show of many years ago. There are far fewer Christmas decorations at Epcot without their lights which went a few years back and have never been replaced, and so on.
I've started going to Disney in Anaheim. I also take loads of DCL cruises. I'm back this April to Orlando for a few days prior to another Disney cruise, and for the first time in my life I won't be doing the parks. I'll swim, shop and dine offsite, but the parks no.
Nothing much exciting new right now and lots gone, so I'll maybe renew when the new stuff is open and working properly and is reliable, which FEA certainly isn't.

So we arrived 12/17, expecting HUGE crowds (our first time at WDW for the Christmas season). Crowds were lower or the same in EVERY park

1) I personally think the admission and hotel prices are getting too high for a lot of people.
2) Sure, many are spending more on souvenirs, but the attendance is DOWN-DOWN-DOWN.
3) In fact, on Christmas Day
. . . Crystal Palace was taking walk-ins
. . . Tucker House was taking walk-ins with groups of eleven (11)
4) In the past, how many people can remember this low level of attendance on Christmas or New Year's Eve ?!?!?!?!

Again New Years Eve had a phase closure. I don't think that's a low level of attendance. I agree about Christmas though.

So, on the closings, do you find out before you pay for parking (hence why the free parking is an incentive)?

Keep in mind with the offering of food, they have to do something because tickets are no longer the same price, so you need to refund that additional $10 at the very least (and they will look for any way possible to not refund the ticket).

I Could learn to love it...IF...it didn't involve ride rationing, hour tinkering, or roping everything off and trying to repackage it and selling it.
