You could leave some in the reception safe as they don't have room safes in the SL. I usually lock it up in my suitcase but I never take that amount of cash, I usually use my credit card.
Safety Deposit boxes are available at reception. Also an idea to keep passports here too. From my experiences the rooms are always safe anyway, but its best to keep that sort of money stored away, that way you can enjoy your day at the parks with the knowledge your money is safe at reception.

No safes in the Montana room. You have to ask each time you need to use the deposit box, so we only use it for passports that we won't need until the end of the trip.
Unless the rules have change you will be handed a key, which you agree to hand back at the end of your stay. If you loose the key you will be charged, also you need to sign everytime you open the box.
Wish it were true Malin, but there are theif gangs in DLp that love to rob the rooms of DLP, always lock everything up.
Good advice Dave, I personally always take advantage of the deposit box, and I have had no issues when it comes to theft. But as you point out it does happen, so don't take the gamble. The safest way around this is to charge all goods to your room, and it will be charged to your credit card.
