I'm renting a studio but want to know where the laundry facilities are? More than one place? How many machines are available? What is the cost?

Would it be safe to leave clothes washing/drying while going to dinner or going shopping for a couple hours? (not all day)

Laundry facilities are located by the pools. I think its free.
Maybe you can plan a trip to the pool and do the laundry.

No! Don't just go off and leave your clothes for a couple of hours. First of all it's not safe and second it's rude. Should the other people who want to use the laundry wait until you finally return to do thier laundry or do they just pull it out. (The general rule is to wait 15 to 20 minutes and then dump. I don't fold etc, I just dump your wet or dry clothes on the table for you to deal with. My dad owned coin laundries and I used to see this all the time. The other problem would be that while folks are "dumping" they sometimes help themselves....)

If I recall, there are onlt two or three washers and four dryers at each of the pools. And I second the "don't leave your clothes" idea. I'd have no qualms about removing your stuff if I saw it waiting longer than 15-30 minutes in a stopped washer or dryer. And these laundry rooms are very small. It might not wind up on a table. Since there are so few machines, no one likes to wait on someone else to return.

I've done laundry at WDW many, many, many times and would NEVER leave clothes past the time the washer or dryer was done ....... way too risky. I'm either sitting outside reading, walk back to the room for a few minutes, etc. I've seen what people do when they need to use a washer or dryer and it appears the clothes have been abandoned. Who wants to come back and find "clean" clothes have been handled by a stranger and are wadded up in a pile. I've removed clothes myself and simply put them all in a basket or on a table. I don't think anyone really wants me touching their clothes more than I need to.
PS --- when the facilities seem pretty busy, I don't see people waiting 15- 20 minutes.

The laundry rooms were right by the pools. There were 2 washers/4 dryers. There was no table in the one I used (I forgot which quiet pool we were at.) I was able to put mine in swim around and still keep an eye on the washer/dryer. I didn't leave the area. No body else was even around. Just be sensitive if you see others around. The quiet pools are small enough that you can keep your eye on the washroom easily.

There isn't a table in the OKW laundry rooms. I wonder where your clothes would end up. ;) I wish they did have a table to fold the clothes.

BTW, on our last trip, as our studio was right next door to the pool, I did return to the room while the clothes were washing. The washers are pretty close to a 20 minute cycle, and I would check the dryers then, too. Though the dryers usually took quite a while longer, depending upon the texture and fabtric.

JC Butterfly, there are only 2 washers and 4 dryers per laundry room, that why it is best to keep a close eye on your clothes. Please, for the conveience of other guests, do not leave your clothes unattended.
