To all past cruisers:
We 9/6-13 cruisers are trying to figure out the best place and time to meet up with each other while onboard. Since we are not all going to the Raddisson, where is the best place on the ship to meet, and what day is best? We are asking all you pros to help us out here.
Thanks so much.
Gloria

Best day is definately Saturday - get the cruise started by meeting fellow DIS'ers.

On the DVC Member Cruise we picked sailaway and while it was great fun it was really crowded and we didn't get much chance to talk to everyone.

On our May cruise we met at 3 pm up on deck 10. It was a lot quieter and everyone got a chance to talk. We mingled until about 3:30 and then left to get ready for the drill.

In both cases it was great running into other DIS'ers the rest of the cruise!

As WDWLVR said, sailaway is a good time, however it is very noisy and difficult to talk.
Even so, we always have a DIS sailaway gathering Still a good ice-breaker.

On any given afternoon, the area around the
basketball courts (deck 10) is usually pretty quiet, and there are several lounge chairs there which are seldom used. That is a good, relatively quiet spot.

The "secret area" on deck 7 can be a great place to meet also. Just get on deck 7 and go aft, to the very end of the ship. You'll come to a door which leads to a small deck area with about 6 or 8 chaise lounges on it. Very nice spot if you can get it to yourself! Most people on board will be unaware of it being there.

A DIS brunch at Palo is also a great way to do it. They have a private room for groups, although I highly recommend the main dining room over the private one. It's too hot and stuffy in the private room!

Finally - if anyone in your group is in cat. 3 or above, let them host a party -that's what we do!!

'Beano'

Yeah, Beano will host a party but only for his really, really good friends that go on a 7 night cruise with him. If you go on a 4 night cruise with him, he figures he won't be on the boat for that long so he doesn't have to be nice to you!

Beano, I hope you know I am only joking! I would never say these things to your face....just behind your back. I promise!!!!

Thank you for the suggestions. I have asked those going to add their names to the list so we can get an idea how many we are talking about. I hope we do get to meet them. It would be nice just to meet face-to-face, put a face with the name (although you can see who I am) I hope some of the children my DGS age will be with this group, that way he will have someone to hang out with in the club if he wants to go. He is good about making friends. He is not shy in the least. So thanks again.
