What liquids do you drink? I always have a lot of water and 7up. The last time I was sick with the flu my husband said it was a myth that 7up is the best for you. He said any carbonated drink would do fine. I still made him go to the store and get me a pack of 7up. I love the taste of it when I'm sick, but I hate to be sick.

My Mom always gave us Ginger Ale and Orange Juice mixed together half and half...we had to sip it...it always seemed to help makes us feel better.

Yup, ginger ale and orange juice or plain ginger ale.

It has to be Vernor's for me. :teeth: I had a heck of a time finding it when I lived in New Mexico, though. Any other ginger ale tastes wimpy to me.

FLAT GINGER ALE...every time. Hope you are feeling better!!! :goodvibes

ETA: Maybe it was NOT flat for stomach flu....but FLAT for diarrhea :thumbsup2

Ya, that is right...regular ginger ale for the flu and FLAT for "rrhea"!!!

:crazy2: I think the OJ would have too much acid and totally make me hurl.

I like diet 7-Up. :thumbsup2

Cola upsets my stomach when I'm well. I drink gingerale, the sugar kind. The carbs are good, if you can't eat.

I try to drink Gatorade, in little sips. It seems to go down easier for me.

Ginger is an anti-nausea so I bet that is why lots of people drink ginger ale. Cola syrup is also supposed to be an anti-nausea thing. I'm not a big soda drinker so I don't usually have it to try.

For me it was Ginger Ale. I love Vernor's but it's hard to find around here, but mom would always make the effort when I was sick.

The carbonation upsets my stomach, so I stick to water. But for some reason POPSICLES work wonders to stop the vomiting!

It's worked for me with a bad case of food poisoning and also the stomach flu. My sister swears by it, and she's the one who brought me popsicles the first time. Now that's what we use for our kids.

I haven't had the flu in many moons, but nursed two last week with the horrible 24 hr virus and the choice drink was Gatorade w/2nd choice Ginger Ale.

My mother always gave me ginger ale. I hate ginger ale. I think I should yak every time I drink it.
Btw, I hope you feel better.

Why flat for diarrhea???

Lemon settles your stomach, and has been shown to reduce fevers. I think that's why some people instinctively gravitate toward Sprite and 7-Up...even though the actual lemon content is probably negligible. If you could make yourself drink a tablespoon of fresh squeezed lemon juice while sick, it'd probably work wonders.

I like ginger ale, ice water, and a sprite thrown in at least once, whenever I'm (rarely) sick.

Ginger-ale or Coke for nausea. If I'm really doing things which dehydrate me, I try to take some Gatorade.

Diet 7-up for me....and it is only when I am sick too!! I just love the taste of it when I am sick too!! I also have to drink it through a straw too! The last time I was sick...I made DH go out and get me some.

I think they say "clear" liquids cause they are much "better looking" if they happen to come back up.
