When you're on a diet, what sort of snacks do you keep onhand..I have things like fruit, yogurt etc..I need somethin to settle my urge for cruncy foods and sweets

For crunchy I like celery and carrots, for sweet how about sugar free items?

Do they actually tase good? I know the Skinny Cows are good, but so much sugar free stuff is awful

Nabisco 100 calorie snacks! I like them all except the fruit snacks.

One thing I really love is to take the Oreo 100 calorie snacks and crumble them up in low-fat pudding or cool whip free to make cookies & cream.

I like baked Lays and baked tortilla chips -- very good with salsa.

Lots and lots of popcorn.

I've found these TCBY yogurt and sorbet bars that are really low cal (I do WW points and they are 2 points). They come in orange and cream and raspberry and cream. Very yummy and big too.

Fruit sorbet -- especially mango.

If I think of more, I'll add them later.

I would also recommend the 100 calories snacks!

And I love chocolate Jello Sugar Free, Fat free pudding cups. They're yummy! Only 1 WW point. (Don't know if you do WW, but it shows how low cal it is).

Baked chips are good, too. Doritos, lays, etc. But don't carry the whole bag. Portion it out in a baggy.

yoplait chocolate whips (curbs my chocolate cravings) and microwavable low fat kettle corn (sweet/salty and crunchy). the best alltime crunchy snack i came up with is pretzles (low in calories and fat free) with fat free cream cheese and salsa (also low in calories and most are fat free)-i put the cream cheese on top of a pile of pretzles, microwave for less than a minute then top with salsa (dieter's nachos).

although you can't eat too many when on a diet-just a couple of chocolate covered pretzles can realy curb a snack attack.

I like ff pudding too, and if it's made with milk, you get a dairy requirement in there too.

For crunchy, I like oat bran or multi-grain pretzels, again low points - calories.

I also like those really big pickles - again, tastes good (if you like them) and it is a vegetable.

I do have a sweet tooth, so I'll make a batch of Haystacks and keep them in the freezer, get ONE out for a treat. (1 = 1 WW pt - not sure exactly how many calories, but must be about 50)

I eat dry-roasted almonds as snacks. Just a handful to get me through to lunch.

Light Tostitos(made with Olean so they bother some people's digestive system..but not mine)
FF Jello Pudding
Quaker Chewy Peanut butter chocolate chip granola bars(huge staple of mine!)
Chips Deluxe and Sandies 100 cal 3 g fat cookie snacks.(better than the Chips Ahoy IMO)
Pretzel Rods
Sherbet
Angelfood Cake with Low Fat cool whip
Low Fat Popcorn

100 calorie packs are delicious. Costco sells a big box for about $7 vs. the $2.50 a box at the store.

This was a WW receipe years ago:

12 oz box oyster crackers
6tbsp canola oil
1tsp dill weed
1pkg ranch mix

mix up and then mix evey 5 minutes for a half hour.

What on earth is a haystack?

Sorry, I meant to post the recipe! :sunny:

Haystacks
1/4 c. peanut butter
1 Hershey bar (1.55 oz)
1 cup Fiber One or All Bran Cereal

Break up the chocolate and melt in microwave for about 40 secs, watch so it doesn't burn. Add the peanut butter to the chocolate in the microwave. When melted, add the Fiber One cereal. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper (makes 9) and let set in the freezer.
I keep mine in the freezer until I eat them. (1 pt. each)

Sometimes I make kettle corn type of popcorn because I've found I really enjoy the salty/sweet combination for curbing a craving for sweets. I sprinkle splenda over lightly buttered and decently salted popcorn and shake it up in the bag. This might not sound so great but I've found I really enjoy the taste and it's not too many points.

Thanks, I can't imagine the taste of that. I don't even think I've ever had Fiber one or All bran. Is it good?

I like them. :goodvibes

The Fiber One is good with milk or yogurt and fruit for breakfast.

The Haystacks can be made with chow mein noodles instead of Fiber One, but that adds lots of calories, I believe.

I like trail mix, especially the one from Walmart. It has banana chips, papaya, mangos, pineapple, cranberries, macadamia nuts, almonds, all kinds of stuff. Even though it's a little high in calories, you need just a little bit to keep you from getting hungry.

Im doing Weight Watchers, so Im always looking for stuff. What my favorite is their Ice Cream. They have these big sundae cups with chocolate ice-cream. They are only 2 pts. I puta little coolwhip on top and it tastes really yummy. They also have sundae ice cream cones as well, again very yummy and only 2 pts.
