Not most of the time. I tend to have friends with strong personalities so often we're evenly matched but unless I feel strongly about something I'll step back and let them lead conversations, choices, etc.
It depends on the group of friends I'm with. I have three separate groups of friends and there is never socialization between groups.
With my work friends I'm the leader.
With my girlfriends from adulthood, I'm the follower.
With my childhood friends, we take on various roles of leader/follower.
My best friends (there are 4 of us) we are all equal, honestly. I love my best friends. We live all over now but we stay close.
With my local friends I often follow.
With work friends I follow.
With students I lead.
I can lead and do if necessary, but I don't like being the one people complain about. I became a school counselor even though many said I should go into administration. I just would rather say, "Oh, Mrs. Smith, I am so sorry you aren't satisfied with the rules. Let me make an appointment for you to meet with our Assistant Principal!"
My role is and has always been "the mediator" I tend to see many possibilities of a situation vs only one and can usually convince people that I am right
Definatly not the leader, but I do tend to get out of my shell very much when I'm with a group, and then turns out that I'm the one with the most guts!
Like when being at a concert, and we are all waiting backstage to meet the band, no one from the group will speak up to a band member when seeing them, I'm usually the one doing all the talking, I'm so shy, but when it comes to that, I guess it's the adrenaline, and I won't shut up
