I have a car reserved with Budget. If you find that your rate has dropped, do you adjust the rate by modifying your existing reservation or do you make a totally new reservation and cancel the old one?

Thanks in advance!

I have done both ways. I most often use National and it is very easy to modify an existing one. But I have also made a new, cancelled the old. Just make sure to do in that order, as prices can change in minutes and leave you hanging with a higher rate if you cancelled, then made a new, and the prices went up while you were do all that.

Thanks, Dan! I appreciate your reply. I just went ahead and made a new reservation and THEN cancelled the old (good advice!). Saved a little over $11.00. Not huge bucks, but hey, it all adds up, right? :D

Must keep checking the new discount codes and my Ent. book coupons, to see if I can find an even better deal.

Thanks again!

I also do the make a new ressie and then cancel the old one, routine. It is very easy.

I make sure to keep cancellation numbers in case they accidentally charge me.

I must have made car reservations with 3 different companies for last August, plus multiple ressies with National and all worked out.

Have a great time!

Duds

Thanks, Duds, I will be sure to hang onto the cancellation number. Good tip!
