Well, I am not sure if this is going to backfire or not. I have planned three trips to the World in the past year. Each trip has had to be postponed due to ill health, personal issues, etc. If I plan really, really, REALLY far in advance, perhaps that would help?! :confused3

We are planning on 7 nights, 8 days at The Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. I don’t know why I am saying “we” are planning. Me. Moi. I and myself. I am the only one planning this trip. Why, do you ask? Because it is a surprise! SSSHHHHHHHHHHHH! Since I have told my girls three times we were going, and had to break their hearts three times as well when we were not able to go, surprising them is the way to go!

This per trip report is going to be called: “When You Wish Upon a Star”. Not very original in the World of Disney, I know. It seems to fit the moment though. Last week, I literally wished upon a star that we would go. That night, I dreamed the most vivid dream! Where we were going, when, etc. I’m not one who believes in signs or anything like that. I’m just rolling with it! So how far in advance are we talking about? How about 10 months of planning. The dates I am looking to travel are from November 30, 2012 to December 7, 2012. With 7 nights, 8 days, Grumpy, a Cowgirl, and a Mermaid.

Please bear with me. I am new to trip reports, posting photos, and links. I will learn, I promise!

Why did I write just the 4 of us in my title? Well, because for the first time ever, that is exactly what is going to happen! We have had the pleasure of visiting WDW in 2009 and 2010. Both times were with DH’s family. Fifteen of us in total. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love DH’s family. I really do. My Mother in Law, sister in law, his aunts, uncles, cousins. I am Grand Gathered out! The goal is for NO tagalongs, no offense to anyone. That would make this trip so much smoother! Since I am always the designated planner for the grand gatherings, planning for 4 should be a breeze, right?! And who are these 4 anyway?

First you have me. My name is Kelly, and I have loved Disney since my first trip in 1978. I have had the pleasure of enjoying the World 6 times now, three on business. When you are stuck at a convention, it just isn’t the same. I work full time for the local cable company, go to school on-line, and take care of the Motley Crew. This pic is me in a nutshell. The shades are mandatory at all times.

Next you have my DH, Rob. Rob is Grumpy in real life! Loves to complain and whine. He believes that my Dis obsession is over the top, yet enjoys the World more than the kids! Rob is disabled, and uses an EVC to get around. Since Rob is very camera shy, here is how our pictures usually look.

Coming up next is my oldest DD. Amanda is 13, and will be 14 once the trip rolls around. Amanda loves everything Jessie from Toy Story. Why is it so hard to find Jessie merchandise?

Baby Ashley rounds out the 4. Why do we call her baby Ashley? She is actually very mature for her age. Rob and I would love to get her loosen up and act her age a bit! Ashley is 10, will be 11 at trip time. Ariel is her favorite. Luckily, Ariel merchandise is easy to find.

Now that you know the cast, let’s start planning!
