When you start a new thread or make a request

Often I have trouble finding the thread where new requests have been entered. I have a DISign waiting to post and there is NOTHING in the thread titles to help me out.

I ask that you put something more than DISign request or Can someone help or a title so generic. Even a single key word like Birthday, Pretzel, Epcot...give me something please!

and all please note...

you should always provide info about what you are looking for in your request up front. colors? characters? Mickey heads? personalization? individual DISigns or a family DISign? dimensions? dates? etc. etc.

This info will help a DISigner know if they have something to offer!

I generally avoid responding to requests that are vague....does anyone do birthday DISigns? can someone do a welcome letter? which DISigners do invitations? I do not like having to draw out the information about what is being requested. and when I ask, the requester often assumes that I am volunteering to DISign when I am simply wanting to get clarification for all potential DISigners.

and provide the month and year for the trip or event so that the DISigners can prioritize!!

Specifics, DISers, specifics please !!

too many new generic thread titles. I don't even want to open them anymore.

HELP...NEED A DESIGN...WHO CAN DO... Personally I rather volunteer for those that jump out at me as something I want to work on.

I havent requested anything since 2009 and seems like things have changed a bit. Can you please tell me what I should be sending now? Is it I just start a post? Sorry...I loved your design for our 25th anniversary and would love to have something again

Many very generic thread titles are surfacing again.....

a reminder: please try to avoid HELP, WHO DOES, A REQUEST, etc. and that type of non-specific thing.

Same goes for requests....please be as specific as possible up front. Details please!!

and read .... any posted rules or instructions ..... thread titles ...... signatures ..... stickys (at top of forum)

and a tip to keep the DISigners happy .... read over your request before posting! have you included ALL information needed? Dates? Colors? File Name?

I am not sure about other DISigners but any new thread started by a DISer that has my id in the title will be given LOWEST priority. I have a profile on the Meet the DISigners sticky and my general request thread details in post #1 where my request threads are. A couple of them rarely drop off page #1 of the forum since I am busy DISigning almost every day!

Likewise, if I have responded to another DISer's request it is VERY unlikely that I will revisit and find an add on request from another person.

I do not want anyone to be disappointed that I don't get to you.

Please use the request threads as they were intended.

And by all means, READ instructions and rules!! It will be greatly appreciated by all DISigners!!

It should not be necessary for a potential DISigner to have to draw out from the DISer what they are looking for.

The who, what, where, when .... colors, resort, restaurant, characters ... should all be in the initial request.

and by all means, dimensions and orientation for autograph book covers or journals and specific shirt pocket (or baby size) DISign requests

Spend a few minutes reading please....and we will be grateful for it!!

Every other post I feel like I am reminding some DISers of the rules for asking for a request on my threads when I have stated them time and time again!

I cannot believe that I am now making about every third post a reminder of my rules. Many MANY people are reading absolutely NOTHING before posting.

Frustrated? You bet!!

Is it texting that is limiting people's reading to a handful of words?
