If we usually go to DW in Nov-Dec wouldn't it be best for us to have our use year now or doesn't it really matter. I read one poster say it should be about 6 months before???? Also when you go the first time do you go to the regular hotel lobby and check in the same way? Can you still charge to your room and have packages delivered? Thanks

I hope this can be moved to the other board sorry I posted it here.

You usually can't pick a use year- just accept what is being sold at the time. If you can select, pick one just before you think you will usually travel. Use year is really just when your points are renewed each year and play no other role unless you cancel on short notice.

You may still charge meals and purchases to your room charge and check in is at the front desk of the resort. The only difference is no daily housekeeping, unless you choose to pay extra for that service.

When we purchased last summer we were offered a use month. I preferred another and asked if we could have a different use month. The reply from my guide was that I choose any use month I wanted, as long as that use month was available from Disney. If you use Magical Beginnings, you will need to choose a use month that is fewer than six months prior to your purchase date so that you can meet the banking requirements. My guide indicated that they usually offer the use year that is most advantageous to the purchaser (that is, the month for which Magical Beginnings is available, but for which the customer needs to wait the fewest number of intervening months in order to get a new allocation of points). At the time we were purchasing (August), the use month offered was March. We chose a June use year instead, meaning we needed to wait three months longer for our second year's allocation of points but had a use year that we felt met our needs just a bit better. In short, our experience was that you could request a different use month than the one offered
