When you go to the Hair Salon.......

My stylist is the owner and the only employee, LOL, so yes, I tip her.

I've read before that you don't need to tip the owner - has anyone heard this before and do you tip the owner (if she's your stylist)?

I have the same predicament with my maniicure person. TC is self employed and does my nails. I tip her anyhow, I don't really care what the "ettiquette says.
