When you first met someone from the podcast team.

How did you run into them how did you react ect.

I first met Pete this past spring at a backstage event at Disneyland booked through Dreams Unlimited. At first I hung back, but later approached him. He was very nice. I believe I acted quite cordial. It was very cool to meet him and to meet the person behind "the voice." He looked pretty much like I thought he might. He is very warm, considerate and charming. I also met Walter who is very sweet and I thought very handsome.

I met Pete's mom who is just an awesome lady. I spent a lot of time chatting with her and she is a delight. She spent a lot of her time with Max the intern who is a very cool guy. A bit on the quiet side.

After the tour, we all had lunch at Naples in Downtown Disney. There was a lady sitting near me. I had seen her before, but did not know who she was...until she spoke. Then I heard the unmistakeable, sultry tones of Miss Theresa. Her voice is a dead giveaway. That kind of freaked me out bc I didn't have a clue who she was until I heard her speak. Then it hit me like a bolt. We spoke a few minutes and she too was a very friendly, nice person.

Never got to met Bob, but I spoke with him on the phone several times. He was my agent for a "Dream Trip" to the Swan. The first time her called me, he introduced himself as Bob...he could tell that I didn't recognize the name or the voice. He said

"You don't listen to the podcast, do you?"

I shamefully admited "No"

Then he said "Well you should."

So I did, that week and every week after.:lovestruc

After that, every time I saw his number on my caller ID I was star struck...DH thought I was crazy! I'd be like "Its BAWB! Its BAWB!" :worship::worship::worship:

To this day I can't bring myself to erase his phone number from the contacts on my cell phone.

The first time we met the podcast crew (most of them) was shortly after Bawb died. They had been planning a live podcast taping/meet and we just happened to have scheduled a trip at that time. Then Bawb died and the taping was canceled, but the meet was turned into a kind of memorial gathering. We were able to meet his wife Diana and offer our condolences. Hope she's doing well now.

We got to meet Corey & Julie, Kevin & John and Kathy that I recall during this meet. Of course, Kathy wasn't part of the podcast at that time, I just recognized her screen-name from her prolific postings on the boards. We chatted for quite a while around the table and came away with the feeling that we had made some new friends.

Since then we've had a couple of other opportunities to meet the gang including the TSM party last year and PCC 1.0. Plus, we occasionally meet Kathy while we are at WDW if she's not too busy working at home.

Great bunch of folks.

I met Teresa at the Dole Whip meet.

I was really nervous, so didn't say much... I kinda wish I did now!

Bawb we never met....... :sad1:

We have met the whole podcastcrew (Pete, Walter, John, Kevin, Corey, Julie and Will, Teresa and Kathy during their live taping at the Swan & Dolphin December last year.

It was awesome to meet them and sitting in with a podcast being taped, it was only us and another couple that showed up for the taping. We loved it.

I met the crew during PCC 1.0.

The very first folks I met were Julie and Corey. Anna (aspen37) and I were walking into the lobby of the Dolphin and when we spotted them. I was a bit star struck and tongue tied.

Imagine how they must have felt. :hippie:

I first met Pete and John at the first DIS meet at the Belleview Room. I think it was in the 90's. Toward the end of the party I finally introduced myself and my DS to Pete. Such a nice guy.
First met Kevin, Julie and Corey at the Gaylord Palms Memorial for Bob. I introduced myself to Julie and Corey and their families when I first arrived. Lovely warm and friendly. I introduced myself to Kevin after I heard his laughing voice coming from another table. My stalker like approach I'm sure put him off but I just had to meet him. What a dear person he is. Never got to meet Bob but always looked forward to hearing him on the podcast.

We first met the team during the live show they did at Gaylord Palms....last holiday season I believe it was. I was pretty nervous (not sure why they're fantastic down to earth folks). We also got to meet Pete's mom, Corey's parents and sister as well as Dian-er. That was at first a little awkward for me as I had "Flat Bawb" with us. I didn't want it to be weird for Dian-er. That soon went away though while talking to Diana....truly a wonderful woman. It's nice to see her post from time to time.

I saw Bob once at Epcot actually the morning of our wedding. My wife told me I should go say Hi but I didn't want to bother him. In retrospect I wish I would have made the effort. I would have loved to tell him how much joy and smiles he brought to me and my wife while listening to the show.

Also got to spend some quality time with them as we were one of the GKTW auction winners. I know we live in a completely different country but I do consider them friends....not in a psycho stalker kinda way either.:thumbsup2

Dec. 6, 2007, at the Dolphin Meet. I don't remember the exact order of who I met first (I was starstruck!), but met Bawb, John, and Kevin before I really met anyone else. Then, of course, Pete and Walter, Corey and Julie, and a bunch of my gurls(!!!!),I'm pretty sure it was Regina at the table, and I think I might have first met Kathy there, then it was Will...he had me at "hello".

"You don't listen to the podcast, do you?"

I shamefully admited "No"

THAT IS CLASSIC BOB!!!!

To this day I can't bring myself to erase his number phone the contacts on my cell phone.

Until I finally moved to a new phone, I couldn't either.

My story I've mentioned before, but is amusing enough to tell again.

I called looking to book an off-site hotel for one day before my on-property stay. When he answered the phone, I was like "OH WOW! Is this THEEE BOB???"

He said it was, but quickly apologized, and asked if he could call me back, as he was in the middle of playing a round of golf for an upcoming "send Bob to the parks" segment.

Later that afternoon, he called me back, and quickly and easily gave me the info I needed. When I thanked him, and was about to hang up, he said "Wait! You're not going to ask me how golf went?"

I apologized, and asked how golf went. (Mind you, I don't play golf) Following that, I was then on the phone for over an hour with him, hearing about every golf course in the greater Orlando area, as well as learning the subtleties about how to play "Bob Golf".

Looking back, and from what I know about Bob though just talking with him a bit and hearing the podcasts, I can say for certain it was a very well spent hour, talking about a sport I don't play, with a great friend I never met.

I'm going to build on tinmac's story....

We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise that stopped at RCCL's private beach....Labadee.

This is a very nice beach but nothing like Castaway Cay.

Labadee is on the island of Hispanola and is part of Haiti.

On the beach, there are a couple of buildings that house local merchants. They sell the usuall island ric rac and supposedly it's "hand made".

Bob and Majk (pronounced Mike...dont ask) and John and I decided to walk through the shops.

For some reason, Bob decided to ask how much a "hand carved" chess set was. The gentleman said $55. Bob said "i'll give you $5". The man prtested and explained to Bob that he had to make a living and his kids were hungry and the materials alone were more than $5. Majk (pronounced Mike....dont ask), John and I backed away a bit. Bob said "I bet that guy over there will sell me one."

We moved on to the next vendor. John and I were explaining to Bob that while they expected us to haggle over the price, you cant drop from $55 to $5 in one swoop. Bob was unfazed.

This went on throughout the shopping hut. Bob would say "I had that guy over there down to $40.00.....will you go $35.00?" The vendor would say yes and Bob would move to the next guy.

"How much for the chess set?"

$50.00"

"That guy is sellig his for $35.00. Will you take $30?"

"OK"

And Bob would move on. We kept asking him why he wasnt taking the deal for $30. He told us he wasnt done.

This went on for quite a while.

After talking to almost every vendor (and there are many) Bob finally got a man to agree to his $5.00 price. Now keep in mind that the vendors are now fighting amongst themselves. We can hear tham arguing...."why are you selling your chess sets for $25?????"

The three of us are hot and tired and ready to get back on the ship and we're waiting for Bob to buy his $5.00 chess set and Bob walks away.

Yes....Bob walks away from the man offering to sell him the chess set for $5.00

When we asked, incredulously, why he wasnt buying the chess set he says...."oh...I didnt really want it. I just wanted to see if I could get it foir $5.00. Did you guys think I really wanted it? If I really wanted it...I would have paid the original $50 and gone back to lunch. Geesh....are you guys crazy?"

He walked away with the three of us standing slack jawed and ready to beat him to a bloody pulp.

True story and John and Majk (pronouced Mike...dont ask) will back me up.:thumbsup2

:rotfl::rotfl: Gotta love Bawb!

But, why is Majk pronounced Mike?:rolleyes1

I did get to meet some of the team at the Dolphin meet on Dec. 13, 2007. I met Will first because he was downstairs, greeting/directing people. Then, Anna was at the nametag table. Julie was next. She seemed to know me and I joked that she must've been studying usernames. I talked with Kevin a bit. I then talked to Bawb for a good bit. Got a picture of the kaht and pics of my boys standing next to it. I remember he had a stuffed Yeti on the kaht and he said was going to give it to a child that was there because the child was enamored with it. :goodvibes

I don't know that I really talked to anyone else. I was so nervous. I had my husband & kids with me and they were there only really to indulge me and weren't patient enough to wait around for me to build up my nerve to talk to more people. So, we ended up staying just a short time. I've regretted ever since that we bolted out of there so quickly.

It was at the Dec 2007 meets :) I went to both of them

I met CorEy first he was so sweet and he introduced me to Julie... Then I heard Kevin's voice and went up and introduced myself and said "Hi, I could be your best friend!" :lmao: how stalkerish!!

Then I met Bawb, Pete, Walter and John it was better than meeting New Kids on the Block!! :confused3

I first met Kevin, John, Kathy, and Will at the Dole Whip for Bawb meet last August in the MK during the monsoon!! I also had a chance to talk to Dianer. What a sweet, wonderful lady.

I met the rest of the crew for the first time at the Mega Mouse Meet during Mousefest last December. I was so nervous meeting Pete for the first time. I don't know why, he is a virtuoso after all!!

And I have a funny Walter story from that morning!! Walter has the velvet teddy bear voice that I . Sometime during the morning, I was standing in a small group talking with Walter. He put his hand on my shoulder and leaned down and said something into my ear. At the time, I must have heard what he said because I responded to him, but to this day I have no idea what he said!! :rotfl: I blame it on "the voice"
