Bought SSR last November, and purchase agreement says "approximate closing date April 1, 2004".
This date of course has come and gone. Do I assume we're a done deal? Or should I expect something more from Disney? Flowers, chocolates, a huge bill, etc.
Still getting Member stuff: new PINs etc.

Thanks all you DVC pros!

PS Is it also correct that you cannot borrow points until you've closed?

That's an intersting question! Since we closed right away, I can't answer your question, but I am sure someone here will know. If you don't hear by Monday, I would call MS and see what they have to say.

hello,

i called and talked to someone on thursday in the accounting dept and was told that the closing for ssr was supposed to be on friday, but was being put off until sometime this coming week.(meaning the first week of may)

::yes::

Seems to me when we closed on BCV in 2002, they eventually sent us a copy of the Real Estate deed.

I would call Member Services on the borrowing question. You might be able to go ahead and borrow at this point. But who knows?:scratchin

Thanks , folks. I figured I was supposed to get *something*, but I don't always pay attention the way I should.

(Yeah, I'm sitting in this little office, buying into DVC, but mentally I'm already on all the vacations I'll be taking for the rest of my life. You'd think they'd take that into account, and make sure they had eye contact before telling us important things.)
:tongue:
And, nitsirk987, I can totally relate to wanting to live there. DH thinks I'm nuts, too, but I keep checking Disney job openings to see if there is ever a job that would convince him to jump ship from his current nice cushy job. No luck yet!

Well, there's always retirement, in two and a half decades.

We bought at SSR and have already made ressies for november and jan 2005. We are bringing friends and needed a 2 bedroom so we had to borrow a few points. We had no problem borrowing even though we techinically have not closed. I don't believe anyone buying SSR can technically close until the resort receives its occupancy permit, hence the delay you mentioned. We should all receive a properly recorded deed once the property closes.

Good Luck
