When you call about a code/pin

My question is, When you call to see if a code or pin is attached to your name, do you already have the trip booked, or are you asking for a quote, then to see if a pin is attached to your name?

I want to find out, because we want to go the end of August, but I am not ready to put a deposit on a package right now.

I already have a package booked but, when I booked the package, I asked if there was a code attached to my name. Unfortunately, there was not. I have also called back three times since I booked to see if there was a code. Each time, I am encouraged to call back as "new codes are released periodically".
