OMG, I just saw this post and I was thinking you read my mind. I booked our flights late because we were going to drive to save money. But I found this fare on NW for $135 round trip and was soo excited. Once I booked it I felt like I can touch my vacation now. It's really happening.

hehe, congrats! We actually booked our flights FIRST - back in October when I found a RT fare of only $125ea from DFW. The availability on the cheap airfare was actually what dictated our travel dates... forced me to add an extra day - right now I wish I could have added a few more.

Just booked our September flights today - now it's real

Still watching fares for December - we're going, but there is no way I'm paying more to fly and rent a car than we're paying to stay and DxDP! I'll drive it before I'll pay what they're asking right now ($719pp RT...and the car is more than a grand!)...sheesh!
