When i was making my booking I wanted to purchase the full package but the guy on the line suggested i book the basic and upgrade on the day… but i read a post online somewhere about how someone wanted to upgrade and was turned away. Should i call back and book the full package?
what do you do?

How odd. I would book what I wanted - mainly because I am assuming they allot different amounts of time to different packages.

We have done this five times with our daughter. I'm not sure I see the value in the courtyard or castle packages (although one could question the 'value' in any of them).

We generally book the crown package and bring our own costumes. We found the costumes we bring to be of better quality and to cost less. Also, if you get the MemoryMaker package, you can walk over to Castle Couture and have the PhotoPass photographer take a few photos for you.

As far as the reservation goes, the add-ons for the premium packages are just clothing and photos (t-shirts, tutus, sashes, costumes, etc.).

Thanks for the advice future mayor. I bought a belle outfit for my daughter last time and the quality has been excellent. She loved it and it looked by far better than anything that she bought from the outside disney store. The one in the park was fancier.

What about everyone else? Which package do you normally go for?

I have two girls and signed them up for the castle package. My question is what do you get with the castle besides the crown package and a dress? The price jump seems to huge! I already purchased memory maker so I don't need photos. Should I just buy a dress the day before? Thanks!

We've only done it once, but I let dd do the Castle package and that's what we'll do this fall. I like letting her choose what princess she wants to be that day. :)

Additional parts in the Castle package: Accessories of your choice and printed photos (1 6x8 and 4 4x6 prints).

We always get the Crown package, the one with hair, makeup and nails. I bring an outfit and accessories from home. Granted my child is older (was 9 the first time she did it and did it again at 10) so she doesn't wear official Disney princess stuff. First time I got her a formal gown in her favorite color (pink) from eBay because we had CRT after. I ordered some Disney princess accessories from eBay.

2nd time no CRT and she said she wanted something cute and comfortable so I got her a sparkly tank top, denim vest and one of those poofy pettiskirts underneath which she wore some biker shorts. I got her some cute accessories from a store here that has accessories for $1 or $2. She wore white sandals both years.

This summer probably our last time doing it. She'll be 11 and I don't think we're going in 2015 so we're doing CRT again. Got the long gown from eBay again, this time in lilac. I ordered a necklace from Etsy to go with it.

I always have prepaid for photopass (now Memory Maker) so I don't need pictures either. They take so many pictures, I know I would have a lot of trouble picking prints and want more than a few.
