Wondering about opinions about the best time to go. DH and I and DS4 would like to take a trip together in the next year. We just got back from a trip with lots of family. Had a great time, but are looking forward to going on our own again. With no one in school we can go whenever, would like to stay with value times for cost reasons. So, when would you go, when is your favorite time and why?? (also does anyone know when all the cheerleaders are there? I am thinking we don't want to go then, or maybe that only matters if you stay in a value resort)

I like Oct, for the food and wine festival. But another time that's supposed to be good is the begining of Dec with all the Christmas decorations, but I've never been then. If you go at the very begining of Oct, up till the 4th, it is considered value season.

We went this past February during Mardi Gras, and it was a little crowded, but nothing compared to Summer, or other busy time, with large crowds.

We are going again this Mardi Gras, it will be a little later (Feb 28 is MG day), and hopefully it will be a nice crowd again. You want it busy enough to make sure the parks stay open later (some close at 7pm during this time frame), and yet you don't want it too crowded - know what I mean?

Weather was very nice this past February, with mostly jeans/shirts type of weather, occaisionally shorts during the day time, maybe a light jacket at night.

If not that time, then I've also heard that late September to early October can be a nice time.

January- first 2 weeks of February. Low crowds and the weather is better for park touring IMO. It's not real hot- so you won't get that same Florida tropical sensation. However, if you really want to spend some serious time in the parks, it is great. The heat isn't there to run you down and such.

I've enjoyed our two trips in November the most. Gorgeous weather, we had no rain, perfect temps, low crowds.

We love September! Still nice and warm (if you like it that way :goodvibes ) and low crowds. If you go near the last week of Sept, you can maybe catch one of the first Halloween parties. Your 4 yr old would love it.

We used to go in September and loved it. The crowds are so low, we rarely waited for anything. It is still warm, but you can take advantage of the pools and with a 4yo, you will probably be taking an afternoon break anyway. Now that my boys are older we go during the summer, but I really miss September!!!

If I could go any week I wanted, I would choose the full week before Thanksgiving week. Rainy season/hurricane season is over. Low crowds. Chance of moderate temps good (not too hot-not too cold).

We went Memorial Day week last year (04) and had a GREAT time. It was somewhat crowded but near as bad as i would think it would be during Christmas or summer. If I could go any time I wanted w/o worrying about kids missing school, I'd probably go late April to mid May. I would like to go in October but the weather is so up and down, I would hate to spend all my money paying for a trip to WDW and then get rained on every day or have the threat of a hurricane always there. Jan & Feb would be too cold for me so I definitely would not go then. Temp drops below 75 and I start complaining!! :sunny: I think the cheerleaders go in March but not certain.

As you can see from my signature I've been in Jan, Feb, April, August and October. I've even been in Dec, June and July as a teenager.
My favorite of all is January. The weather can be anything from 30-40s to 90's. The crowds are mostly non-existant and lines are short. We loved going in October for Halloween however and although lines were longer they were very managable.
