We are planning on spending five nights at the BWV and 5 nights at HH this summer.

I know the 4th of Julyat WDW will be crowded, but does it stay crowded during the rest of the week or is the week before a better bet?

I was lucky enough to book the first week at HHI today, but I am wondering if I would be better off booking the last week in August (less points and less crowds). But I don't want to miss out on any of the special summer events (fireworks, BBQ, etc.).

So, I decided to put it to the experts and let you decide!

Thanks for your input!!!!

when I have been for the July 4 - I go in the early morning and evening - remember it is on season so the parks are open later.

I have gone to WDW during the 4th of July for the past 20 years, and I never go to the parks on the 4th, due to the massive crowds. The crowds aren't too bad on the other days of the week.

Several years ago the Beach Boys were on stage in front of the castle on the 4th, and the crowds were so huge that you literally could not move. When the fireworks started, everyone stopped, and I was trapped on the bridge near Crystal Pallace. I had my first panic attack there. Never again :sad1:

Stay away from WDW over the 4th of July, unless you like it very crowded. Late August sounded better for HH, more likely to be less crowded.

Thanks for all your votes and responses. I think we are going to WDW 6/26-7/1, but still can't decide about HH.

I called the resort directly to find out about BBQs and fireworks and they said they run from Memorial Day until Labor Day. But, truthfully, the girl I talked to didn't sound like she was sure. Can anyone confirm if this is true or not.

Thanks again for all input!

The week before July 4th AND the week after were both just waaay too crowded and hot for us. We've been over spring break, Christmas and other high-attendance periods, but July was the worst. Heat and pressing crowds don't tend to be a good combination.

But if this is your only window to go, I'd say go for it. We've never had a bad time at Disney, and the resorts have lots of pools.

I voted for BWV in June. Crowds are less than the 4th and you get to see Fireworks everynight that are better than any 4th of July fireworks near anyones' home.

The weather is usually superb then as well.

Thanks again for all of your posts and votes. We are definately going to WDW 6/26-7/1. We are currently booked at HHI for 7/31-8/5, but I am going to try to change it to the last week once the 7 month window opens.

Thanks again!
