Would you prefer to go to Disney A) when you were 20-25 weeks pregnant or B) the following year when you had a four-to-six-month-old?

I can see downsides to both. Obviously if you're pregnant you'll tire more easily and you can't ride on all the really fun rides. But with an infant you have to lug around SO MUCH STUFF (but the Tower of Terror is not off-limits anymore  ).

I went pregnant twice - it was not that big of a deal. Going with an infant - that's a big deal! :rotfl2:
That's what I'm afraid of! I remember how big of a production it was just to go to the store - I can't imagine lugging all that stuff around Disney. Babies are so much easier to take care of when they're on the INSIDE. :rotfl:

I voted for going when Pregnant assuming you would feel up to it. I was always on bedrest when I was pregnant and I felt like crap. Anyway we took DS when he was 4 months old to Hershey Park and it was not very fun lugging the stuff and constantly having to do something for him and he was very fussy too. So thats why I say go before the baby arrives and then you can go again when he or she is bigger and is ready to have fun at Disney :) .

I wouldn't want to go when I was pregnant. We went to DL when my ds was 7ish mos old. It was really a great trip. IMO an infant is pretty portable. I just took a few dipes for him, change of clothes just in case. I carried him in our mei tai, he napped in it, etc. I bf my babes so didn't have to worry about taking food. If you don't have to worry about bottles you don't have to pack all that much stuff.

Voted for taking the baby! But I guess it really depends on how your pregnancies go. Mine were all horrible, so I would never want to go to the World pregnant. Taking a baby isn't that difficult if you ask me, especially if you breastfeed and wear him/her in a sling.

I voted while pregnant. That time of pregnancy is the easiest per say...your body is used to the peeing every 3 seconds & you don't feel horrible yet. That is not to say you will not be peeing every 5 seconds but still.

Now if you are BF & your kids are like mine, I would not go with an infant only because my kids like total silence & only like me quiet, no talking, no moving just sitting & feeding them-they do/did allow me to type when they were in the nursing zone though.

So that would mean, stopping every 2-3 hours to go some place quiet & nurse.

And my 9 month old hated the heat. She would not nurse if it was hot which I don't blame her.

Don't forget at night when the baby is up & you are all in one room & the baby is crying which means everyone is up, not just you/dh & the baby but your older child.

But that is me. I'd rather travel any where with a baby in the tummy then out.

I vote for taking a baby, i went when i was 20 weeks along with baby #3, my other two had fun, and i couldn't ride all the stuff except what my 18month old at the time couldn't so we sat out together, andit's not fun chasing an 18m 4 months pregnant while eveyone eles is enjoying the ride!!! LOL... but i get to tired when i'm pregnant to go all day long, when allie was 12 months old i loved it, she was still breastfeeding and was in a MT carrier 80% of the time. she loved, it and i would have loved it even more carring a 4/6 month old around 100% of the time, plus they don't eat anything but breastmilk then so no need for babyfood crap either... JMO! :)

Pregnancy was really hard on me, so I voted take the baby. It's much easier when DH or whoever goes with you can share in carrying them around all day. When you are pregnant, it's all you!!

I vote for taking the baby. We went when our daughter was 2 months old. We're headed back in two days, she'll be 8 months old. There really isn't much to lug. I breastfeed, so there's no food to worry about. (The current AAP reccommendation is to wait until 6 months for solids so you won't have to worry about food. My daughter really isn't into solids yet even at 8 months). I use a sling, so she doesn't need a stroller. (We do take a stroller for our 3 year old though). I have a backpack that is a diaper bag which worked out great - even when both kids were in diapers for our last trip. I do have a distractable nurser this time. My son would nurse anywhere - I even nursed him while I was running in a half marathon once! But my daughter gets distracted. There's baby stations if needed for that. I may even throw in my hand pump just in case. We co-sleep so there's no pack n plays - though many hotels have these.

However, if you're pregnant, then there's a lot of rides you can't go on. I did go to the fair when pregnant with my daughter and it was tough to just sit back and watch my husband and son do the rides without me. Also, I get huge when pregnant. I don't mean the normal huge, I mean super-huge. I gained at least 70 pounds in each pregnancy and I'm barely 100 pounds when not pg. My babies were born at 10+ and 11+ pounds. I had terrible vulvar varicose veins last time that made standing for 5 minutes tough - starting at only 22 weeks. I also had hypermesis (severe sickness) last time that didn't end until 18 weeks. You don't know what your pregnancy is going to be like. I'd definately suggest waiting.

It's a tossup to me!

I had great pregnancies for all 3 so we went to WDW when I was 24 weeks pg with #3. I did miss ToT but we had DS with us who couldn't go on anyway. He and I had some good times together while DH and DD rode the 'wilder' attractions.

As far as going with the baby, that sounds good too. Breastmilk is *so* portable and convenient! And they don't need toys to amuse them! At the 4-6 month stage my little ones were still good about just nodding off if they were tired and then sort of picking right back up when the nap was over so sleep wouldn't really be an issue either.

Hmmm..sounds to me like any trip at any stage is a good one!!!

I've done both. Both were fine. I did get tired more when I was pregnant (I was 21 weeks). It wasn't bad after she was born either. She was 13 months and not walking yet. She loved the lights and people and everything! If you go at a slower time of year it would be even better.

I voted for wait for the baby!!!!!! I went when I was pregnant with my first dd, and it went fine, couldn't really do the big rides though, but there's so much more anyway. But once you have the baby, it won't feel like "oh man I gotta lug all this stuff around" you just get used to doing it, and taking the baby out was always so much fun for me. And at that age they will just take their little nap in the stroller, and you can still go on alot of rides with the baby. Either way would be just fine really. You'll have fun either way.

It would be easier if I were BFing, but I plan on starting the baby on formula when I have to go back to work at six weeks. I tried pumping when DD was an infant and the only place they had for me was the ladies' room. I had to bring my own electrical cord and sit on the floor. I'm just going right to formula next time when I have to go back to work. So by the time we go to Disney, that would mean lugging around the bottled water and formula and everything with us.

I think at this point I'm leaning slightly toward going when I'm pregnant. I had morning sickness until I was 20 weeks or so, but I felt pretty good for the next couple of months after that.

I voted for taking the baby. I took DD when she was 5 months old and it really wasn't that big of a deal. I breastfed so I didn't have to bring any formula so that may come into play for you. We brough our own PegPerego stroller that fully reclined and a Baby Bjorn. For all the rides I had her in the Bjorn and she just sat on my lap while we were on them. I was able to do a child swap so it was easy enough to get on the rides. When needed, she slept comfortably, fully reclined, in her own carrier. Overall, it was pretty easy and I wouldn't have a problem doing it again.

Congratulations on your new addition.

Both my kids were not happy babies...cry, scream, never nap, there is no way we could have possibly pulled off any outing when they were infants. I vote go while pregnant, but I had great pregnancies :confused3

We took our DS when he was 5 mths old and it was a breeze. I breastfed and gave him some formula. I just brought ready made formula, a bit more expensive, but I didn't have to worry about "making bottles" and keep them cool. Of course, if you're flying, that would be a lot of formula to bring, but no big deal if you drive.

Friends came with us when our DS was 5 mths old and their DS was 18 mths old. She was pregnant too and wasn't impressed with sitting out at all the rides. But it worked out good for us. We had someone to watch our son while we rode together. :rotfl2:

I went on a cruise while pregnant and I was tired all the time. I probably wouldn't do that again.

It's a tough call.

I am sorry, and do not in any way mean to be disrespectful with my response, but this statement made me giggle. Yes, this is a true statement, but IMHO you tire easily and can't ride all the really fun rides with a 4-6 mo old either.

I didn't pick either option in the poll, as I personally couldn't have handled either. I was happy to wait until my baby was 6 years old and I didn't have to deal with diapers and strollers and naps. I am always amazed at the wonderful and incredible parents who can handle a trip to WDW pregnant or with little ones; I think you are all Saints!

I voted pregnant. ::yes:: Babies are much easier IN than OUT. :rotfl:

I was 5 months along on our December trip last year, and we also had our 6, 4 and 21 month old boys with us. It was a great trip! I was worried about how tired I'd get, but I did better than I thought I would. And although I couldn't do some rides, it didn't bother me at all since I knew we'd be back again. :thumbsup2

And I saw you mentioned having long-term morning sickness with your first. I got that too, with both my 3rd and 4th pregnancies it lasted till delivery day! :sad2: BUT, for me anyway, being disracted from it really helped. So while in WDW I simply didn't have much time to focus on it, so that was nice!

Now the little guy who spent his first trip to WDW in the womb is 8 months old....yup, it was easier carrying him around inside than it would be taking him now (or a couple months ago when he was 6 months)!! :teeth:
