Looking for some input from those who have gone to Disney at all different times of the year. If we are booking in 2007 and looking for:

1. Low crowds (duh  )
2. Warm enough weather to enjoy the pool :beach: (Hurricane season doesn't scare us! :scared1: We can deal with extreme heat. :faint: But if there's a cooler time that will allow us to hang by the pool and enjoy low crowds, well, that would be just fine too! :thumbsup2 )

When should we consider going??

Our children are not in school yet, so that's a non issue. We can travel whenever.

What do you think guys???? :listen: When is YOUR favorite time to go?

If hurricanes don't bother you I would say September right after Labor Day. I like January equally as well, but that wouldn't fit in with your pool plans! I love early December but it's more crowded and weather is unpredictable! I've been just about every month of the year and those are my choices - my main consideration is crowds!

Yes, crowds are the biggy. We are currently booked for 9/7-16, but I was just wondering if there were other equally 'dead' times.

May! We go every year at that time and it's wonderful! Epcot has their Flower and Garden Festival then too so it's gorgeous! We always utilize FP so the most we've ever waited for any attraction was the most of 20 minutes. But shhh...don't tell anyone else, we don't want everyone else to start going then too! :teeth:

I second May! We went the week before Memorial Day one year and it was great. It was warm enough for the pools and there were low crowds. :sunny:

September
May, we just did it this year (12-19) and it was great, low humidity, easy crowds, this was my favorite.
October, we just went for 3 days last week (11-13) and it was nice, hot still but not overbearing and we had hardly any waits.
November was nice too but by the end of our week the crowds were getting a little heavy (1-8 2004) possibly make up vacations from hurricanes?

Never encountered it so far. But there are grad nights. The last ones are usually the 5/6th of May. We usually go smack dab in the middle of May. :thumbsup2

Last week of Sept/first week of October..... this was by far the best trip we've ever taken..... the weather was PERFECT-88-90 every day with not a drop of rain (we lucked out!), the MNSSHP was a blast-would love to do it again!!!! We also loved the F & W festival @ Epcot..... that would be my ideal time to go back but alas with our school district's very tough policy, it will not be the case for a long, long, long time :(

I think that would be a great time - especially if they offer the free dining next year!

We just got back -- were there Oct 6 - Oct 14. Crowds were busy at Epcot on weekends due to Food & Wine, but other than that it was great. We frequently walked on to rides, especially MK on the 6th-- we walked on to EVERYTHING! And MNSSHP was fantastic. I'd go again just for MNSSHP, but that's because I loved dressing up and interacting with characters in my costume. It was a great trip.

Definitely warm enough for the pool, too! 85-90 the entire trip. Great weather, it didn't rain at all!

I also agree with May. We have gone at other times but our favorite time is the week before Memorial Day. We go from Saturday to Saturday. When we get home, we have Sunday & Monday to relax and get things done before going back to work.
:simba:

The beginning of October is a wonderful time to go for low crowds. We arrived on a Friday and visited MK Saturday which was slightly crowded but I guess weekends are always busy at WDW. Sunday we went to MGM and were able to walk on anything we wanted. The only wait was for Playhouse Disney but that was because of showtimes. We were even able to get 2nd row seats for Fantasmic withing 15 minutes of showtime.

The rest of the week was walk on for everything. We went back to MK on Thursday and it was almost like having the park to ourselves. We walked on or have minimal waits for everything including Space Mountain.

We also love Thanksgiving time because of the xmas decorations. Last year the crowds were a bit more than we hoped for but the atmosphere more than made up for it. In fact, we're going back the same time next year.

For us our favorite time to go is the week after Thanksgiving, we have been several other time-Feb., October, June, July, August and nothing beats that week. No crowds, the weather is great, and yes you can still swim, my kids did it everyday at WL and BW, and you can't beat the decorations in the park and the mood. For us there would be no question when to go especially if we didn't have kids in school. My sister just go back last week and said it was hot, and crowded, especially EPCOT. I guess once you've been the week after Thanksgiving you are spoiled for any other time. But I hope you have a great trip.

OUt of the 14 times that I've gone in different months since 1982, OCTOBER is the absolute BEST time to go!!!!It's cheaper, low crowds, Food and Wine Fest. is going on, Mickey's not so scary Halloween Party, and if you're lucky, FREE DINING!!!
I sware, this past trip 2 weeks ago was the best (AND CHEAPEST) Disney Trip i"ve ever been on!!! Free dining was just unbelievable. :thumbsup2
