I am trying to decide which would be the best week in Oct to go. I am flexible in my dates but I do want to be there for a Mickeys Trick or Treat party.

We usually fly out early around 6am so we are in the park by 11am and fly home in the early afternoon so we can get a couple of hours in before leave.

I am thinking either 5 or 6 nights, maybe from the 12th (a Sunday) to the 18th (a Saturday) or the 14th (a Tuesday) to the 19th (a Sunday). (I'm a little too supersititous to travel on the 13...silly I know) I am sure no matter when I go it will be busy but should I plan on more weekend time there or more just week days?

Any advice is appreciated.

I am also having trouble making up my mind where to stay, although after reading these boards I am leaning towards HoJo's. My other choices are the Tropicana and BWPPI. (Really I want DLH but I am having a hard time justifing the price).

We did the Wed-Sat the week before Halloween and had no lines, except Friday night when they were showing Fantasmic! I would think any of your dates would be fine. If you do Tues-Sun, you might have 2 chances to see F! and fireworks... Fri and Sat night... MHT will probably be on Thursday... which we saved almost all of our DCA exploring for that night...

Have fun!

October is a great time to go! The weather is usually good (although last year the Santa Anna's kicked up big time).

Do check the gaydaysanaeheim.com (I believe that is the right website addy) for the Gay Days' dates. That weekend is uber crowded. believe me sooooooo many people in the parks you can't move.

Also check their site to buy convention tickets. Don't have to use them during the actual event and will save some $$.

Check for the entertainment rate at the HOJO in October, I've usually been able to get it, and pay under $80.00 a night for a great place to stay. You do have to call the hotel direct rather than the 800 national number to get the entertainment rate, and you need to buy an entertainment book before you arrive, not before you book.

have a great time. Mickey's Halloween Treat is great fun!!!!!

Many schools here in the West now have "Fall Breaks" in the month of October. I know several school districts in AZ that have Oct 6-10 off. I have heard this makes it quite crowded in the parks. Utah also has UEA (Utah Educators Assn.) break that occurs October 16-17 but many take additional days off around it to make it more like "Utah Escapes to Anaheim."

I would try to avoid these times, as well as gaydays on Oct 3-5, and you'll have a better chance at lower crowds.

Gay days is the 3-5th, so you'll miss that crowd. It's gotten busier with all the halloween stuff they do, so I think as long as you travel as much as you can during the week, it should be good?

Thanks for the answers, I can wait to have everything nailed down and planned. I want to get my plans settled now and get a countdown ticker going!

I usually love spring and summer but this year I am going to hoping they fly by so fall and my DL trip gets here.
