When would be the best time for us this year at WDW

We're in the process of purchasing a resale contract (we should close the beginning of June). We will have 100 points that'll need to be used by the end of the year. Is a trip this year out of the question? We'd ideally like to go in November, but we're extremely flexible on dates. We would be willing to stay at any resort at WDW and any size room (we have other points we can use too). I'd just hate to lose all of those points.

In general, DVC busy time is October through the WDW marathon in January.
There is somewhat a natural low the week before Thanksgiving week (11/13-11/18 this year) and actually right before Christmas is a better than early December.

Also, there is usually better 1BR availability than studio availability.

You may want to check the month of your use year.

If you have a February use year, your 2016 points will expire Jan 30, 2017.

We have a December UY. The contract we are purchasing has 100 2014 points coming to us. Those will need to be used before December, is that correct? We owned years ago, but had a February UY. December confuses me lol

I wouldn't include the value of those 2014 points in any offer. They will be hard to book and use.

Oh, that's disappointing! It would be a bummer if we lost that many points. Would we stand any chance late August or any September?

In general your success rate will depend on your willingness to play the "stalk the website" game (daily checking for any availability and book any available day(s)). It's not the most fun thing to do, but if you'd like to get something from those 2014 points, it might work.

It would definitely be a game of waitlisting and flexibility, with possible split stays.

I would book something with your existing points. Then when your contract closes, ask MS to change to the 2014 points for the reservation.
