When worlds collide~the original flats meet in 4D!!

Doesn't that sound blissful!!?? Ummm.... Cynth you can still think about Sept. I mean you ARE, right??

Yes I am :goodvibes

It will be next to impossible to pull off but of course I'm thinking about it!

Though if you did move it to say, late October...my chances would be vastly greater! LOL!. Not that I want you to postpone your trip but just sayin'

My prob is we have the big trip in August, I also have a girls weekend in August, another one in Oct and then Palm Springs with Jeff's Dad and wife in early Nov. And I'm trying to save for the cruise.....

Still. Stranger things have happened!

Every year or every other year is a great concept for a couples trip. We have visions of every 2-3 years for a big trip but saving for them is brutal, our family trips eat up all our travel budget and we both struggle with a big trip for us at the expense of everyone else?

So we've settled for short couples trips for now. We hope to start saving after the August trip for a big one but we will see how that goes!

I SO wish I was going with you guys. I'd like to just go sit on main street for a couple of hours, running over to the espresso place in fantasy land for refueling, drinking a doppio with a ton of sugar and just

BREATHE
I wish you were going too! With southwest I get 2 bags free....I wonder if you would count as 1 piece of luggage?

I've postponed my dream trip to England about 4 or 5 times...mostly because I feel guilty spending that much on a trip the kids won't be on...ok, and to be totaly honest...I'm a little scared about traveling that far...the stupid what if monster gets to me.

I had the lettuce lamb wrap things for appie and then I ended up with a burger for main as I didn't like anything else :rotfl2: Maybe I'm picky but everyone agreed it wsn't that good!

Hope he's OK!
well, in my humble opinion...lamb is yucky, so that was a mistake.;) It's funny that you go to a fancy place and order the burger.

How did I miss this??!! How is he doing??
Hunter is good....well, he thinks he's crippled for life, but the x-ray didn't show any fractures , but he has a huge brouse and swollen shin...they gave him some of my little friends..tylenol3 last night.
And being the mean mom that I am, I made him go to school today.

DH and I would LOVE to do a couples only trip...but I don't think that'll be happening...ever. :( We'll see though.
keep hoping....you never know what will happen. I never thought I'd be able to take the kids to disneyworld, one time let alone 3!

holy cow! you're going to be busy!

I know and it's my fault...the whole leaving the kids thing. We were sopposed to go on a big alone trip every other year but then, we had to have a re-do of our family trip, then last year we took MIL.....

2 years ago we did go to Victoria, B.C. for 2 days, I guess that counts.

Just wont be the same without Mother-in-law and her magical bag of crap tagging along! I'm sure you'll miss carrying around that Marry Poppins bag, now wont you?;)

Hmmn. How big is your luggage?

No kidding. Wonder what will happen if I ever get a real job?

Well the 2 weekends are local. Adult Girl Scout Camp and Suncadia. Jeff's dad is springing for the Palm Springs thing for his bday, all we have to do is buy flights (and of course expenses once we are there). PS is SO not where I'd pick but....it will be nice. I don't know that we will go for a whole week though which is what they want.

I'm glad Hunter doesn't have any fractures. I"m a big fan of the suck it up school myself. :thumbsup2

I hear you. We postponed Australia for last years Disney trip. And now this years Disney trip...but the kids are at the age where to go for that long is a lot harder than it was in '06. We did a week in '07 and it was a bit of a disaster child care wise and so I've been skittish about too far, for too long, unless it's in the summer. Not to mention our years of family trips with the big kids are getting numbered, this could be the last big one for a while we think.

Of course Jeff is getting his plane so I don't feel all that bad about getting my way on the family vacations!

oh, wow! I didn't realize he would be gone that long! I don't know how you do it.:worship:

You need a vacation when he gets back, forget waiting for your 15th. Heck, you'll probably need a vacation all by yourself.

By the time he gets back, he will have been gone for 11 out of the last 13 months. It stinks, but such is life.

That's for sure! Actually, I just registered for the half marathon next January in Disney and it looks like it'll be a solo trip so I'll get plenty of quiet time. :)

Glad Hunter is okay!

:rotfl2: remember, I was horrible and refused to carry the mboc!

!
childcare is a hard one..finding someone will and that you trust, can be hard. I'm hoping things will go a little smoother this time. Evan is driving...oh, and he got his license today(I can't wait to make him go to the store for me)
so he'll be able to get Bailie to dance and the others where rthey need to be.

We're also looking at our last few family trips before things change. Evan will graduate in 2012 and leave for a 2 yr mission sometime that fall. So, I now have 2 more summers, christmas' etc...untill the family is different.
I have palpatations just thinking about it.

:yay::yay:I'm so impressed that you're doing the half marathon! I would love to do that....but it would mean conditioning before hand...that would be the hard part!

After so long on your own with the boys you will so deserve a break by yourself!

Don't be too impressed until I actually do it! :rotfl:

I can't believe your trip is getting so close! :cool1: Did you make a decision about changing resorts?
I decided to stick with POP, it's that or get tile for the kitchen.;)

Don't be too impressed until I actually do it! :rotfl:

I'm impressed that you say you're going to do it...I would tell anyone for fear that I wouldn't do it.

If you see the headling "woman strangles mother in law with a ball of yarn" assume that it's me.

It is hard. The boys are a lot easier than they used to be but if you add in school and activities, it's just hard on anyone so it limits when we can even "try" to go anywhere without them!

:rotfl2:

Ok...as horrible as that would be...it is really funny!

Also, the only way DH and I will be able to do a couples only trip is if we can get my parents to keep our son. In theory, it's not a hard task...as they LOVE my son (heck, we live with my parents, so they'd better love him, lol). What's hard is telling them "keep our son so we can go to Disney World...just the two of us." My mom tells me all the time I'm not allowed to go to WDW unless she's going. :D

However, I've got an idea. A two week trip with them. One week they watch the kiddo and we're on our own. And the following week they're on their own and we have our kiddo to enjoy the world with. Hmmmm. It would be a win-win for everyone. *creaky wheels start to turn*

I have the same problem...watching the kids isn't hard, it's getting them every where they need to be.

Oh tag fairy where art thou?
she might be bound and gagged too.

That a great idea! Or, just don't mention to your mom exactly where you're going.

:
It's 2 years straight, with only 2 phone calls a year, mother's day and christmas. But if he's somewhere with internet access he can email once a week.
We don't have any say in where he goes, so it could be California or Russia, we won't know untill a few months before he goes.
I'm hoping he goes somewhere totaly different from the us, so he can appreciate what he has here.

My little brother went to Chile on his mission which was funny because he's 6ft 3 blonde hair and blue eyed.....among all the rather short Chileans. I think he stuck out just a little.

combing google right now and nothing's popping up yet....;)

that's because she's in the hole in the basement waiting for the basket of lotion to be lowered....
