When will they open up 2011 Reservations?

I'd like to try to book a trip for Christmas 2011 through Disney's website, but they are only taking reservations through December 31, 2010. Anyone know when they will open it up for 2011?

Is it a mad dash for Fort reservations once they open it up?

It will be mid-August before the website opens up. Apparently, the 2011 rates are pretty much set, because folks have posted that they received revised confirmations with their new rate.

You can book site only over the phone, just not through the website.

Got our revised confirmation for Thanksgiving 2011 with rates. However, no AP or AAA rates open yet. Usually we're able to get AAA rates first, AP come later if at all. AAA rates have been the best bet in recent years.

Booked per telephone last night for Jan 8-13 was $578 when I tried to book last week and now is $375. Much better. Is AAA discount even better then passholder or when they come out with specials. Just don't want to have continue to change ressies as deals come out.

I guess I'm also interested in the 2011 Christmas question. I tried the other night and they said you can only reserve 499 days ahead which would put our date around Aug 15th. Is it that hard to get reservations for the christmas holiday? I kind of thought of reserving dates earlier for a longer period of time to just get the dates I wanted. Can I then come back later and cancel those days.

It is VERY hard to get the reservations you want at ANY time at the Fort! You can reserve 499 days out from your DAY OF DEPARTURE FROM THE FORT, not your day of arrival.

I booked last month, for Feb next year. I did it by phone, and just got the new email over the weekend with the new rates. They had booked my whole week as peak, but now only the last day is-so it saved me some $.

It will be our first trip and we can't wait.
