When will Target mark down their Halloween candy?

Someone mentioned Rite Aid, and that is where I did the best yesterday.

In my experience, the best place to get marked-down candy is a small drugstore. People think about going to Target or Walmart for marked-down items, but the stuff in those small stores is plentiful and usually marked down to lower prices.

Just a tip for those who make candy houses for xmas.

Last year I bought the Wilton kits for the gingerbread houses (haunted houses) at 75% off then bought a bunch of candy at 75% off. I just threw away the halloween candy and made it Christmas candy LOL.

Our Walmart had lots of candy left at 50% off. I only bought one bag of Baby Ruth candy bars - my favorite. I went over to Target, but they were only 30% off - and one bag of Hershey miniatures was still over $3.00! I left there empty handed. I wanted the Hershey bars to freeze for using in Christmas cookies.
Let me know if anyone sees the % go for more.

If it is not expired yes, I use last year's candy for next year's holiday. This past Valentine's Day clearance, Target had Twilight bags of candy hearts, individually packed with 20 or so bags in each pack. They expire December 2011 so I am saving them for next year's Valentine's Day.

I have to drop my son at his job in a little while, so I'll check out our Target and see what the discount is today. It's been three days since the holiday - do they count the third day or do they make you wait until the 4th day to increase the % off?

At my closest Target, all Halloween items and candy too were 50% off.

Our Kroger had bags of Kit Kats for $1. (Thankfully I refrained )

Targets vary from store to store on their clearance items, so the stores in your area may still be 30% off tomorrow. The stores in my area typically don't do the deeper markdowns until several days after I see them posted here on the Budget Board.
