We just added points to our ownership at Saratoga Springs and our Guide said they were almost sold out. Disney plans to make the official announcement regarding the Contemporary Villas in 6 to 8 months but it may be earlier than that when Saratoga is sold out.
Not sure where that info has come from. I would be VERY surprised if CRV was announced with AKV still being sold.

Assuming the points to stay at CRV are about the same as the others DVC's and assuming the cost per point is the same as other DVC's, I can't imagine being able to sell SSR and AKV at the same time as CRV.
The ability to hop onto a monorail will far out weigh the idea of being close to DTD or seeing animals out your window.

....
By my count Disney has at least 8 Deluxe resorts on-property. Only three of them feature the ability to "hop on the monorail." Nevertheless, every day thousands bypass the opportunity to stay at the Poly, GF or CR to instead stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge, Yacht Club, and so on.
Different strokes.

I hope your assumptions prove true, but I'm not counting on it. I have a feeling -- just like with hotel rooms -- being on the monorail line costs more than staying elsewhere on property. I think the points are going to cost more (it will be hard to book at CRV at the 7 month window, so having it as a home resort will be a benefit -- benefits cost), and I think it's probably going to have some of the highest point-per-night costs of any on-property site. I think it's also going to sell itself, so I'm not thinking they'll have a lot of incentives for it.Assuming the points to stay at CRV are about the same as the others DVC's and assuming the cost per point is the same as other DVC's
This seems to be everyone's favorite quote post. However, unlike above, it is the assumption I would take issue with. SSR has a point structure higher than OKW though neither is located near a park. SSR is generally less than the park DVC's. Animal Kingdom brought a whole new direction of how DVC does points. For most of its rooms (savanna view which will be 80% of all rooms) and except for January when it is the same, its point cost is higher than BCV, BWV and VWL It thus is not located at a park but received the highest point structure yet for 80% of its rooms. It does have animals and a uniqueness.
CRV, if it ever comes into being, is, by my best quesstimate, going to be higher in points needed for a room than AKV savanna view. I believe a conservative estimate is that cost per night may be 5% to 10% higher as it will be touted as the first monorail/MK resort. Moreover, if announced while AKV is still selling, they will raise the price per point by $7 or more but actually keep AKV close to its price at the time by simply raising the incentive per point to keep it there, and offer only a small incentive on CRV and see how it flies.
