When will Southwest Open?

wow site must be busy with my travel spots because I got the first airfare 30 cheaper than the second.
Prices cmh-mco 264, & 235.. yuck at least i had travel funds to cover most from a canceled flight.

aside from the prices (exactly the same as posted on AT:rolleyes1merger is going to stuff it to many of us) shocked that they've dropped many flights out of PIT

Paid more than I wanted- $204 one way Buffalo to MCO for Dec 23 but hoping it will come down- so far checked again and it is now up to $229. Need return flights but they aren't out yet. But now it seems like we are really going!!:cool1:

Gee, that was the hardest thing I've had to do to book a flight. The prices were OK but we didn't allow for the fact that there wouldn't be a morning flight out of PIT on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

DH reluctantly agreed to take the late afternoon flight out on Thanksgiving so we get to start our vacation a little early. Now to find an acceptable hotel for the night before our REAL vacation begins.

I know, guess since they acquired airtran, no morning PIT flight. I am probably going to have to go with Airtran on that one.

I just booked on SW too, Nov 19th - 28th out of PHL. Flights were definitely more than I was hoping for - I just paid $330 RT x 6 of us!! Now I am just hoping for some kind of pin offer to help!

Am I crazy, or did Southwest lower their prices already for Buf to Mco on Nov 19th?

I decided to book JB going down @ 139.00, and SW coming back @ 189.00.

Now I see SW @ 129.00 going down. I already forget what it was @ 6am, but it was higher than the 139 JB price, that I know for sure.

Does SW have a history of doing that so fast? Or did I miss something?

Thanks.

I just booked air for PHL to MCO over the NJ Teacher Convention time in November and when I checked an hour later the flights had already gone up over $100 for our party of 3.....Glad I booked when I did......

Me too! I thought $400/ticket was high when I booked this morning, but it was the cheapest I could find for that time frame. They have gone up $350 for my family of 5 since I booked this morning. :sad2:

I guess the cheapest flight PVD to MCO was 144. I'm flying BDL down on Jetblue, and back on SW -- got return flights at $124, now up to 159 in just 20 minutes.

Late start this morning to booking my flights since there was a huge accident on my way to work and it took me 1 1/2 hours to get to work instead of 1/2 hour!!! By the time I was able to get on and check I was really disappointed with prices and times of the nonstop flights! Ugghhh... We are going 11/18 - 11/25. I had made a deal with DH that if the prices were a significant difference to fly home on 11/24 we would go a day early. Well the return was either $94 for 4:30pm nonstop (11/24) or $166 for 7:30pm nonstop (11/25)! Called DH but he didn't like the 4:30 time...so we ended up booking a 1 stop no plane change for our return on 11/25 - leaving at 9:05...fare was $94! So in the end RT wasn't too bad...
BWI - MCO 11/18 - 11/25 = $241.10 x 3...Total $723.30 - $20 in travel credit...$703.30
Not bad...
We leave 7:00am and get in at 9:30am (love this flight, have taken it before) but our return flight stinks because we don't get the day in the parks on Friday
Leave Orlando 9:05am and get in to BWI at 12:20pm
Oh well....guess I shouldn't complain...going back to Disney for Thanksgiving!!
Good Luck to everyone!!
Debbie

Like many of the pp, I too was hoping for lower prices than we got. Last year we flew the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and returned the Sunday after. We paid $350 per person. However I made note last year that the "cheaper" flights were on Thanksgiving and after the weekend so I made sure to plan our trip this year with that in mind. This November we are leaving on Thanksgiving and returning Monday (a short trip!) and it was $325 per person round trip. However it has already gone up $53 a person. It also looks like many of the times on various days during the week are sold out and some are much higher than I paid. So overall I am good with it. There are 7 of us going down. 3 are guests of ours and they have never been to Disney over the Holiday's. So we are exciting about taking them with us.

Good Luck to everyone and enjoy your trips!! :goodvibes

I'm so glad I didn't wait for SW. :) As soon as DH agreed to go, I booked USAir, it's been about a month and a half. Now SW has eliminated the NS flight on the way down we had to take (leaving after 12 school dismissal), and total it's over 300 more. I was so afraid I would regret booking earlier. Oh, this is for Jersey week in November.

Prices are definately high. What I don't get is how 2 flights were already sold out at 6AM? :confused3

We aren't going until January 11th (a week after the released dates), but I checked schedules/flight times up to the end of their released dates just to get an idea. Wow. The schedules stink for non-stop flights, and the others have very long layovers. It's the same for flying to and from MHT and MCO. Bummer.
If the Jet Blue rates come out for our dates first, and they are better than what SW released today, I'll make the trip into Boston and fly Jet Blue.

Wow! Now my Jersey Week pricing is up over $250 more from when I booked this morning......Happy I got in when I did.......All of Air Tran's flights are higher and the times are not as good, which is the case with US Air too......

The flight I booked this morning is already sold out! I guess I shouldn't hold my breath to rebook for some credits!

This is the first time I have actually wanted to book US air over Southwest for thi December. They seemed to have eliminated a lot of the non stop flights, the times are bad, and the prices are high. I think I would book US Air right now if I didn't have credit on SWA.
