I read somewhere that no Shamu shows are going on right now because of the new baby. does anyone know when these shows will start up again? We are suppose to go to seaworld this Sunday, was hoping to see Believe and Shamu Rocks.

probably not by sunday. I don't know how long they hold off on the shows though. I didn't start going to sea world until the last two babies were already a bit older.

It says on their facebook site that shows were up and running this past weekend, although not as long as the regular shows. Can anyone confirm this?

I will tell you, it's absolutely cute to watch the babies mimic the mother as she performs.

There is a show going on as well as a "presentation" of the new baby. So the shows probably won't be Believe or Shamu Rocks but you'll get to see a show and a brand new cute baby whale :goodvibes

I can confirm two shows today one at 12:00 and one at 5:30. 12:00 show-stadium closed about 11:45 due to being full.

Does anyone know if things will be back to normal at Thanksgiving. We will be there that Thursday and Friday. I can't wait-the 5 year old doesn't know yet but he loves watching the videos online.

I was at at SW on Oct 24th.
Checked the website in the morning and they listed a Shamu Rocks show for the evening.

Went to the park and the did not have it.

Anyway - my question.
I LOVED the old believe show and this was my first visit since the death of the trainer. So, I was very interested to see what the new show was like.

Wow - it was a very big disaapointment - even for my 4YO who knows Believe by heart as she watches the DVD all the time.

So....is what I am reading here actually meaning that I didn't see the "replacement" believe? This was just a showing since they had the birth?

Yes I think that's right. We were there on Nov 3rd and it was the baby video and then a very short show, it was basically the ending of Believe from what I can remember from 2008. I don't think they are doing the full show until the new mother can be back in it.:confused3

The show that is currently being performed is a shortened version of the normal show because the baby is still getting adjusted to its new surroundings. Plan on these shows being run for a few more weeks. Maybe until the end of November or atleast until the Christmas shows start the day after Thanksgiving.

Sorry if this is a silly question, but how quickly do the babies grow? We're going in mid December. Will the baby still look like a baby then?

They grow quick but he'll still look like a baby, and will still be very cute :)

Yes, what you saw was a show they have while the Mum and baby settle down. The normal "dry" shows are almost exactly the same as the normal shows except the trainers do not enter the water. Some of the segments of the show are out of order but it's nearly the same :)
Here is a playlist that has my videos of the normal dry show in it, incase you're interested http://www.youtube.com/my_playlists?p=A311D69C402FBD7C
