Is there an approx. date for the opening of seven dwarfs mine train in the spring?

Late spring 2014 is all they have said.

It doesn't look very close.
We had lunch with an Imagineer and he said late summer......hopefully

We have watched the empty cars doing run through. It doesn't seem very fast unless they have it slowed down.

I just got back. It is no where near ready. The outside has huge holes where construction has not yet started. The entrance has a lot of work to do as its really just a frame on the outside. We saw steel workers working on what looked like the entrance area and other workers scattered over the mountain marking the "ground" with paint where it appears facilities junctions and such will go. I mean don't get me wrong, what is done already looks amazing and it will probably be great fun, but people looking for a quick opening are going to be disappointed. I have no idea when it will open, but there is still a lot to do.

the entrance queue probably is where the most work needs to be done the mountain at this point just needs detailing. I think we could see a possible soft opening in mid to late march if all goes well. The track is completely done and has been for some time the run it every day.

Waterfall on the mountain was turned on yesterday

Well, it is a Fantasyland ride. I think those expecting it to be a true thrill ride are going to be dissappointed. Then again, Space Mountain isn't very fast either, it just feels that way because of the darkness. I am sure the theming on it will be excelent and it will be a great ride!

I'm glad it doesn't look fast. About all I can handle anymore is thunder mountain and Goofy roller coaster.

it is supposed to be like Big thunder and barnstormer but new feature in this ride is the swaying cars

I think part of the problem is that guests have had SO with NO concrete information on what the ride will really be like to invent it in their own minds. I'm pretty sure I'll love it, but I predict a lot of "was that it?" threads by early summer.

Disney has released simulated ride videos and an actual ride video from a couple weeks ago

But they announced it.... when? 2011? That's a long time with a blank canvas for guests to impose their own ideas of what they think it would be.
