I am so happy for everyone getting discounts but I really need some pixie dust for a Room Only code. DH & I are going on our 1st trip without the kids 11/4-11/8 and we already have our tickets. I really wanted to upgrade to deluxe. We are not AP holders or FL residents, anyone know what the history of Room Only vs. package releases are?

I'm right there with you! I just helped my mom and dad and my brother's family get their discounts- saved a total of over $1000, but I can't use it. DH has had a career change and we are waiting on our house to sell. If it sells, the trip is on. If not, the trip is off. So, I want to keep room only b/c the cancellation is 5 days versus 45 with a package- therefore, giving us more time to sell the house and possibly go to WDW. Anyway, I am wondering if there will be a room only discount though- sounds like the package one is a really good deal.
Congrats to everyone who got it!!!

I'm not saying it couldn't happen but you may be better off purchasing an AP for you and your DH since your planning another trip. Then you can get the discount now on your room.

We thought about that in the beginning of the year but the 10 day park hopper with no expiration was cheaper than an AP. We will not be going back to WDW till next November for my Cousins wedding and to buy one now doesn't seem worth it for 3 days this November. Oh Well, I'll just keep wishing for a good Room Only this year.

We are waiting for a room only code too ... I have our tickets already and I am not interested in the meal plan.
This will be our first vacation without the kids (14th wedding ann..)
Our dates are Nov. 9-15 and are booked for CBR but would really love a deluxe (WL standard.)
Here's some pixie dust for everyone tommarow ...

:cheer2: :grouphug: :cheer2:

Mousesavers has a history of discount codes and I found it helpful to track a March fl. resident rate for the past 3 years. I found that they have offered the room only fl rate for our time period and now I can have an idea of when to start to look for our discount.

Check Mousesavers, it really has helped me. Good luck.

According to mousesavers, http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html

Last years "General Public" package discounts didn't come out till 9/29/05. They were release a month earlier this year. Room Only codes came out the same day as the packages last year. Maybe they will not be releasing room only codes this time? I will be so upset.

Here's some Pixie Dust for all of us! :tinker:

I'm really hoping for a room only code. We have a AAA rate right now,and we are not interested in the dining plan, so the package deal would only save us about $80. Plus, I wouldn't want to pay the package in full 45 days out. I'd rather keep it in the bank earning interest, put most everything on the American Express card, and pay it off when the bill comes and get the reward points! But, it would be nice to get a room only code and save a little bit more on the room.

Throwing some pixie dust your way!!!

But, some of the availbility is NOTHING with the discounts that just came out, I don't know if there are any rooms left to discount????

Bumping this cause I'm hoping for room only discounts too. I already bought our park tickets. I wish I'd waited :badpc: I am thinking of booking the package anyway though and saving the tickets I get with it for another trip (which will be years away!). Still, I want room discounts *sob sob*!! It's looking very unlikely now I think as last year the package and room discounts came out on the same day.

I guess I'm in the same boat...I just returned from Yellowstone, so am a bit behind. But, looking at Mousesavers, I gather there are no room only discounts for my time period of 11/18-12/02 yet? Is that correct?

Sorry, but I spoke to a CM about the rumor that a room only code for the general public was out, and she said "Unfortunately that is not the case." Im not familiar enough with codes to know if a room only code will ever come out, but as of now it's a no go. The CM couldn't give me any more info. :(
