We were on the Magic in July for the Iceland Norway cruise. When talking to the cruise director Darren he told us that he was leaving the ship soon for vacation and then would be going to Germany in 2020 to begin training staff for the new ships. He said that training process alone is scheduled to take at least a year. He didnt have any more info than anyone else about future cruise itineraries or timing. My husband is hoping one of the new ships will Cruise Asia. But Darren said that no cruise line has ever made it in the Asian markets without a casino and its highly unlikely that Disney would offer one. Also to get the Chinese market they would need to add a lot of Chinese oriented programming, mandarin language options etc. He also said that Galveston and San Diego have both been begging for full time ships to port there. The next couple of years will be a lot of interesting speculation. I just know that I’m hoping as platinum we get a chance for the inaugural cruise wherever it is. I imagine the programming is going to be phenomenal.
