When will Kidani be completely finished?

I know we can book for stays May 09 or after but I think I heard that everything won't be complete until 2010? Does anyone think this ongoing construction might be a problem for their summer trips next year? Or for that matter until it is complete? Is there anything we should be concerned with or worry about? I am planning a 3 day stay next July. Thanks for any insight.

It looks to me like they will finish the resort in sections. The lobby and the sections closest to Jambo House look like they will be finished first.

For our family we don't see what the big rush is. We will wait until the construction is totally finished, the Cast Members are trained, and the animals are settled in.

There are two "phases" to construction.

The first phase is scheduled to open in May 2009...the second in September '09. That should be the end of the construction.

As soon as they're done with construction it will be time to start the refurbs, it'll never end!!!

Hmmmm see part of me wanted to wait to summer 2010 to stay there when EVERYTHING WOULD BE DONE.....but I am not sure. Of course I am still excited about staying at our new home and hate to wait that long. Will the new pool be open next summer??

When we all started making our Kidani reservations on the 10th, a lot of people asked mS about the pool being opened. We were told that the only things not opened would be some of the rooms and the new Pembe Savanna. Seeing as the rooms not opened will be on the Pembe Savanna, there was a minimal risk of reserving a savanna view room and receiving a savanna that has not yet been opened. I asked multiple times about the pool and was told repeatedly that the pool, the restaurant, the fitness center, etc. would all be open for May 1st.

I am looking forward to staying at our home resort AKV too but we probably won't actually stay there until nov 2010. We have the developer points to use for 2009 so it looks like we won't be "home" for a long while. I was also thinking it would be better to go after most of the construction is over. I would love to go 2 times a year but it probably won't happen, sigh! I can't wait to hear about Kidani village from everyone!!

See I am wondering about this too....maybe we just wait til 2010. I swore I would not do another summer split stay and this would mean 3 years in row. If I banked my 100 points then I would have 200 to stay there next summer. hmmmmmm what to do what to do?????

I am not a big fan of the Disney experience in the heat of the summer. I am taking DD out of school a few days for our feb trip. We have never been there in february but at least it won't be hot. Our fav time to visit DW is thanksgiving. I love the weather at that time and although its crowded, at least we're not hot and sweaty! I went to Orlando in may a few years ago and it was sooo hot! It really put a damper on our fun. I think we will be going in november just about every year.
