When will I get my tickets?

This is our first Disney trip and wondering how things work. We have 29 days left. I received some luggage tags - yellow sticker ones. Will we be getting anything else? What about plane tickets - can those be printed off. Thanks. We are flying and staying at POR.

You should have a confirmation number for your flight and you can go online and print your boarding passes up to 24 hours prior to the time you leave. If you reserved a package at WDW then your park tickets will be on your room key and you will get that when you arrive. They usually send out a little welcome kit with some stylized park maps and a note saying welcome - nothing you really need. Just bring along the confirmation number for your hotel reservation and I always bring the invoice that says how much I have paid and how much I have left on the balance (if any). If it's a package you should have a zero balance showing. Just in case there is a glitch in their computer system, I have something to show them at the check-in desk. Have a great time on your first trip - :cheer2:

I'll be at POR the first part of January.

It sounds like what you received were your Magical Express luggage tags. Magical Express is Disney's complimentary transportation to/from the airport.

Did you purchase a Magic Your Way pacage that includes tickets? If so, you'll receive your tickets when you check in; they'll be incorporated on your room key so that your room key will double as your park ticket. If you did not purchase a Magic Your Way package (you booked a room-only reservation), you can purchase your tickets seperately at various outlets (Disney Stores, once at WDW, etc.).

We used the Magical Express for the first time this past summer. Boy it was great. We usually drive but this service more than makes up for the money you save by driving instead of flying.

On the subject of tickets...I already have my tickets for January. I was wondering about this whole finger scan thing. Do I get my finger scan on the 1st day? Just curious. Also, when we check into our resort, do we combine our tickets with our room key? Thanks in advance.....you guys here on DIS have been so helpful to us newbies!

Your finger gets scanned every time you enter the park and put your ticket through the turnstyle. Some have had success putting their tickets onto their room keys. I think it depends on where you got your ticket - if it's a regular ticket or if it's a special convention or work related ticket (but I could be wrong here). If you bought it from the Disney Store or from a place like Undercover Tourist they can put it on your room key.

How does it work if we are getting the non expiring tickets. When we check out do we keep the room key as our tickets for future visits or do they convert our left over days onto another ticket?
