Or maybe I should say:

If there is going to be a summer discount for on-site hotels, when might we find out about it?

I'm trying to figure out our travel dates, but I'd like to know the dates for the summer discount (if there is one) before making air travel plans.

Any thoughts?

Last year's Summer Promotions came out around May 26th (over Memorial Day weekend). Late Summer promotions came out around July 26th.

I am also keeping my fingers crossed!! :cutie:

Do we wait that long to book hotels though? Should we be booking now for beginning of July or is it ok to wait that long for a deal? So confused lol

Hotel discounts are generally based on occupancy. If you are going regardless of room price, book now. If price is key then wait.

The more rooms booked NOW the less likely or lower the discounts are going to be.

With the Carsland opening mid-June, Disney won't need to work very hard to get people to book rooms & visit the parks.

Ah, so we've got a while before they are announced. Hmmmm. I'm looking at going in August, but I don't want to plan our dates because I want to make sure we can take advantage of an offer if there is one. But I don't want to wait until May (or July!) to book airfare. Last year we got in for the Late Summer discount and it was great, but who knows when/if that will be offered again. Ugh! What to do, what to do.

You can book your airfare and wait to book your room. If you end up not getting a room on-site you can still stay off-site and in some cases be closer to the parks. :)

I am on the same boat. I am planning a split stay to take advantage of the late summer offers (package and/or hotel only). If they have a good package deal, may stay on-site for the entire week. If not, will split between on-site and off-site. I am waiting and waiting and waiting ...

I am also worried that it will be too late to book in July for August ... what to do...
Since what I am booking depends on the promotion offers, booking it now then changing it later does not work ... pixis dust!!!!

My husband just got the Doubletree Hilton (Anaheim) for us for free with his Hilton points--so I don't even want to know if there is some amazing special going on! I know we will probably get to the Disneyland Hotel some time soon enough--but I am sick of looking at the prices and not seeing a good deal! I, like many others like to plan ahead my vacation--but this is hard to do when they won't tell us the specials early enough. It drives me batty!

That was my little rant for the day--carry on....:goodvibes

I keep thinking about how to explain why I don't want to do that yet, and I'll just use last summer as an example, although last year it worked in our favor. I don't recall the exact dates from last year, so these are fictional dates, but this is what happened. I booked airfare for 8/14-8/21 based on using miles, and made hotel reservations off site. The summer hotel offer expired 8/13, wasn't great, and didn't make it affordable for us to stay on site. Then in July, a late summer offer was released for dates beginning on 8/14, and it was a *great* offer. We could finally afford to stay on site!

So this year the time frame is the same, but I want to make sure we can take advantage of a good offer. If the summer offer isn't great, I'll book later dates and hope that the late summer offer happens and is awesome. Or I'll suck it up and decide to take the not great offer and hope that if something better comes out I can move the air travel dates.

Either way, I didn't want to make plans and then have summer offers come out the next day and end up kicking myself. But since it is probably far off, I might just go ahead and book something and hope for the best.

Can you book a package and then change it if a discount is released before you go? That works in WDW, not sure if the same applies to DL?
