Seriously... our flight isn't until November and they have changed the times we are leaving at least 3 times now. The latest is they moved us from leaving at 10:30 AM to 1:50 PM.

It would be nice just to have a leaving time and be done with it - especially now since my mom decided to go with us and I have no clue which flight to book her on as I refuse to leave that late in the afternoon on a short weekend trip.

Please understand that it is not all Airtran making changes. Changes can be made by the departure airport, the arrival airport, and the FAA. There are many reasons for flight times to change. November is a ways away and that is one of the prices you pay for booking early. Sorry, no sympathy, that's just the way it is in the air travel industry.

Airtran will allow you to change your flight if you are not happy with the new time. They even changed the departing airport for my sister. If all morning flights are canceled, then you are out of luck. Otherwise, they are very nice about giving you what you want.

I had an AirTran flight change one time about a week before. Moved our departure from home to a couple hours later, wasn't happy!

Wait a minute, I don't want to start an argument, but I would certainly quibble with this. (The first part, not the second.) Airport authorities and the FAA do not make wholesale changes to airline schedules. There are slot issues involving certain airports that can cause changes, but what the OP is describing certainly doesn't sound like that.

I spent three years working for an airport authority that operates a major international airport, btw, so that's the basis for my flagging this. I just don't think its accurate to suggest that the FAA or the departing/arriving airport is responsible, as in the vast, vast majority of the cases, they have absolutely nothing to do with it.

I sympathize. I have one of the few remaining Northwest flights out of Memphis. They have changed my times 5 times in the last month! Nothing major, but still can be annoying.

That's one thing that you must watch carefully, Airtran loves to change flight times. Last month they cancelled our departing flight and never contacted us.
If I didn't check the website I would have never known. Thankfully, we were able to move to the flight that replaced it.

You know if it was a half hour.. heck even an hour change I would understand but from leaving at 10:30 am to leaving at 9:30 am to now 3:30 pm is crazy.

I booked this specific flight for two reasons.. the first being the times were good with the 3 hour drive to the airport and second that it was non-stop. It's the only non-stop for the day.

I am trying to decide what to do at this point. We don't leave until November and I would prefer the non-stop over a layover. I don't want to change to an earlier flight with a layover only to have the non-stop moved back earlier.

To confuse matters more my mom decided today that she would like to join us so trying to decide which flight to book her on.
